Welcome to our alumni, current families, and friends of our community. Thank you for your time and support to the St. Pius X Fine Arts Program. Through the arts, our students learn to express themselves in ways that develop creativity, imagination, and artistic growth. We are grateful for the many gifts God has given our students through dance, visual arts, music, and drama. Thank you to our outstanding faculty and staff members who help mold and shape the creative talents within our students.
Last year, we had 44 students receive the Fine Arts diploma seal, and 12 students went on to major or minor in the arts. We had two students make all-state in band and chorus, and another student won first place in the state poetry competition. The Band program participated in a sound design workshop at Disney World where they recorded music to an animated video, and the visual arts, dance, chorus, band, and tech crew students received distinct honors for their performances at local competitions. For the 2024-2025 school year, 680 students have chosen the arts as part of their education, which is 65% of the student population! The Fine Arts program at St. Pius X is an integral part of our school’s mission, and we are excited for the arts performances this school year.
To all the artists, it is invigorating to see you pursuing your passion and sharing your craft! We are grateful for all your hard work and dedication, and we are here to support you. You continue to make us proud.
Our prayers are with you every performance!
Blessings,
Dr. Edye Simpson
Mr. Aaron Parr
The Jill Mulligan Scholarship was created by her family as a legacy to her lifelong commitment to Catholic education and her deep love of St. Pius X Catholic High School and, in particular, St. Pius X Catholic High School’s band and arts programs. It is the family’s belief that this scholarship will help sustain the beauty and meaning that music and the arts bring to life at St. Pius X Catholic High School.
Hired in 1981 by Monsignor Terry W. Young to teach English and communications and develop a performing arts program, Bonnie Spark directed her first show in November of 1981 in the school cafeteria.
For nearly 40 years before her retirement, Bonnie Spark whisked us away from reality, bringing us comedy and tragedy through her work with students in the theatre.
In 2013, the Bonnie Spark Endowment Fund for the Theatrical Arts was founded in honor of her decades of dedicated service to the school. This fund supports the needs of the theatrical arts program at St. Pius X. It provides yearly funding so the drama department will continue to grow for years to come.
Please consider a gift in her honor by scanning the QR code or visiting spx.org/support/ endowment-fund.
