I am very homely girl, very simple down to Earth, eat dal sabji roti, I mean homemade food, which no one believes. I have good convincing power, I keep my self calm whatever the situation is, and I always think may be today is bad day and tomorrow may be worst but after every sunset there is sunrise. Inspired from the Lovespoon Craft of Wales
CARIAD, a Welsh term meaning love, is the collection inspired from one of the famous crafts of Wales, i.e. Lovespoon - a traditional craft dating back to the seventeenth century. It is a symbol of love, carved from a single wooden block, presented as a gift to a woman by her suitor since it was essential for the girl's father to see that the young man was capable of providing for the family and woodworking. It is a representation of true and unconditional love.

I was born in Goregaon, Mumbai and I have spent my few years of childhood over there. With hazy memory, I shifted back to Kolkata where my roots belong to. I’ve had a very revering childhood where I was excelling in my studies and along with that I was a proactive trained classical dancer. Having Been in the zone where I was outdoing in my academics and co-curricular activities, life hasn’t been that easy for me. I was an ambivert and it used to take me a very long time to open up to people and express myself. Somewhere I was losing confidence within me and it was getting arduous to get along with people. Life changed when I participated in a fashion show held by the fashion society of my college. I was doing my The Fashion Show boosted my spirit up. I went to Mumbai to build up my first portfolio. Life was struggling for a fresher in Mumbai. I wasn’t getting many assignments over there so to earn my bread and butter, I started working in events as a crew member. Gradually, the industry over there started recognizing me. And I did my first print shoot. I felt more confident and my determination was touching the cloud nine. I have done several shoots in Mumbai and my parents and relatives started acknowledging my work. I had to come back to Kolkata due to swedging family affairs. But I had already built my rapport in the industry. I took a conventional job as an accountant in Kolkata and along with that I was also pursuing modelling. My conventional job made to travel overseas. I have spent an elaborative duration in Middle East. If you ask about my forte, then I love to get shot in Bikini. For me my skin becomes the subject and the art of fashion and photography becomes raw over there. I love to express my boldness in still shots. It expresses my subtle sensuality, my happiness and a sense of realization where I feel blissed. So, apart from jumping into any category, I prefer to get shot wearing bikini. I have extensive experience in editorial, runway, commercial and pageantry. I aim to keep following my heart and trust where fate leads me with the goals of expanding my modelling career, and continuing to explore the fashion world.

I always participated in dance, dramas, parliaments, acting and I have noticed that I am very good at it. students look up to me and learn watching by me. teachers always appreciated me and I was always in the lime light, and this passions comes along way with me. After my school I have decided to be a model. In the starting I get many problems because i had no links no knowledge about modelling and no family background. It's very difficult for me to find the right way for my career so I decided to start with my own, and I started clicking my own photos by an android phone to showcase my talent. My passion for photography started a long time ago.As a child I was drawn to all kinds of images, whether it was cinematic memory from a movie scene, Dutch masters paintings, or magazines. I was memorizing images, staring at some for hours, soaking in all the details - the light, the colors, the story. But it was quite an evolution that took me where I am right now. I photograph women. I capture femininity. My passion for photographing women started with my passion for studying emotions. With a degree in philosophy, emotions were extremely interesting and engaging, and I find women have a natural instinct for understanding emotions, reading them, feeling them, hiding them. the emotional aspect of my work determines my aesthetics as well. I mostly create black and white images. For me colors are a bit distracting and overwhelming, take the focus of what's important - the feelings. Although many of my works are artistic nudes, I rather go for "emotionally naked portrait". There is also a lot of self reflection in my work. I focused on my own feminine growth and development, going through different stages in life, watching my body changing, my mindset changing. I'm in constant search of those different stages in the women I photograph. Different stages of womanhood. And so many of my women go through some kind of transformation in their lives. often women come to me and say they feel rejected, outdated, not attractive anymore...rejected by society, by husbands, used and not needed anymore... it's my mission to bring their confidence back. To show them how gorgeous they are, change their mindset from "i've lost it "to "i gained something new". some women set up new goals, begin new chapters in their lives, and they want to celebrate it. some celebrate becoming 30, or 40, or 50. and I simply love to see their confidence blooming! the confidence that always comes from within. some of my women want to have that greatness captured, printed and maybe hidden in a keepsake box in a drawer, "for their eyes only". No matter what women comes to me, whether it's a flirtatious bombshell, like marylin monroe, or powerful beauty like Marlene Dietrich, whether she's soft and curvy like Rubens' muses or delicate like Twiggy, I take my camera and try to capture the elusive essense of them...their charm, their beauty, their form, their shade of feminity.

Has ever happened to you to feel like your emotions were in a dark and cold place, standing still, waiting for a glimmer of light? I strongly believe that photography is the form of art that can give some light, color the shadows and take you into another dimension, free of time and space. My photographic journey begun by chance. I am a professional educator in a community that hosts people with disabilities, and a dear colleague of mine directed me to the first photographer who portrayed me.
After that there was an escalation of contacts and photo shooting (including a collaboration with a made in Italy skincare brand). Over time I understood that the best weapon to pose with is empathy : it allows you to travel and identify yourself with whomever you and your photographer want, and doing so you can generate a sun-kissed girl in a red dress in a field of ears, ready to create thousands of dreams.

As long as I can remember, people have always asked me if I was a model or told me I should be one. My parents never agreed with modeling so I never got to do it when I was a young girl. I have always loved fashion, makeup, skincare and modelling. My family got used to taking model-like photos of me when I was young because I loved to practice and play dress up with my hair and clothes. And practice my poses. Once I started making my own money, I enrolled into a Modeling Agency here in Winnipeg. I never told my parents, all I told them was I was taking a class that I enrolled in. One day I was driving from somewhere with my siblings and father in the vehicle and he answered a phone call for me, it was my agency saying that my modelling class was canceled. That was the day him and my mother found out and couldn’t stop talking about it, we will not discuss this any further lol. Now my mother shows everyone who comes in my photos and always makes sure to show the magazine cover featured in our living room. I don’t think she misses anyone lol. Where I live it is not known to be very glamorous, the posing I was being taught and modelling tips was not for me. So I taught myself, I bought courses from a professional model who does it for a living and watched countless YouTube videos. Did ton’s of research on skincare, makeup, fashion, haircare, body types, workouts, modelling tips, nutrition, bought courses and still continue to work on myself every day. My knowledge is so amazing now.

One day I met a man at an acting type of job. It turned out he used to be a professional photographer in Vancouver. He was inspired by me and said that he never found his muse before. He became inspired to help me with my career. I am so grateful for him and absolutely love working with him. He got a studio and set it up and is now taking photo’s for me and called it L’Eclat Studios. We want to get into Ford or Ellite modelling agency. I am so happy to say that I left that agency I currently started in to become a professional model. My poses are so fun and fluid, modelling is a lot of fun for me. I have been featured in covers for magazines, have been featured on some fashion clothing websites from some clothing boutiques here in Winnipeg. Sometimes if people need it I can style them. And during photoshoots I help people pose. I am Ukrainian, and with everything happening in the world we have currently done a Ukrainian photoshoot but our next one will be in the colours yellow and blue like the Ukrainian flag.

I was born in Asti, a little town near Turin ,but I was grew up in Milan, city of fashion and now I am living in Bologna. I am a journalist and photographer. The passion for photography has always been there, since I was a child, then with the passage of time I approached photography in a more professional way, even if I do not live by this activity. In the past I have attended various courses in photography and in particular in fashion. For me, fashion photography is creativity and I like this world, from fashion designers, to stylists, to models... clothes, make up and thinking how to best make the most of it. For the last eight years I’ve been following my dream. I travel a lot and collaborate with many famous and talented photographer around Ukraine, China Hong Kong, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Turkey. So have big experience about modeling. But the way was not so easy. First I’ve try shooting in Ukraine. My friends photographers took pictures and explain many things about good looking on a camera. Than I have some collaboration with famous magazine In Ukraine. But the biggest experience I’ve got when I stay China and sometimes travel to Hong Kong. It was amazing time and I get know so many talented people there. To get the experience in any field you need to pass a lot of shootings, to understand camera, to know a lot of photo positions u have to see yourself from the outside.

Karan Luthra is a professional Actor, Model, Influencer, motivational speaker, fitness freak and an inspiration for many who wish to follow their passions. "Though he belong to a middle class Punjabi family but he was always allowed to see bigger dreams in life. His family was always supportive and was free to pursue his dreams." He was born and bought up in Delhi & belongs to a well qualified family wherein his parents are employed in government sector. Being the youngest one in the family, he is highly pampered by two elder sisters. In his childhood days, he was very shy person and never interacted with anyone and was even hesitant to go to school. Talking about his Modelling & Acting journey.He is a huge admirer of Bollywood actors such as Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, nawazuddin siddique, om Puri and used to enact like them. Therefore, he decided to pursue Acting & Modelling as a Profession. His family was surprised to hear this news and being in government sector, his father always wanted me to go for service only. Therefore, he gave up my passion and employed himself in a nine to five regular job as per the wish of his parents. After working for a year as a serviceman, he finally decided this is not his cup of tea & managed to convinced his parents and decided to fulfill his dream for which he finally join an Acting Academy. He also conveyed that he studied for around more than twelve hours a day and used to rehearse a lot while learning the Acting Skills. Initially he was rejected by many people but he was quite determined and optimistic during his struggling days. In just a short period of her newbie acting career,and his time changed and started receiving many ad campaigns of leading and reputed brands, He has also done many ramp shows, TV commercials, print shoots, International Ad Films, Web series, Ecommerce shoots, brands shoots, digital Ads, Designer shoots etc. He also worked with popular youtubers and his journey of creating magic via Digital Media still continues He also told us that In his initial days of modelling he met Mr. Tapas Das Founder of Dct Modelling Agency & spotless Fashion Magazine..He guided him so well about his modelling & Acting career..To be very honest this is the person or i would say my mentor whom I admire a lot. He is such a Gem kind of person & given me a break in my Modelling & Acting journey. And another turning point of his life was Top Model India season 5 wherein he walked on ramp as a Model and it was his overwhelming experience, learnt a lot about modeling and grooming. His mentors. Ms.Rajni Subba and Mr. Mandeep Singh Panesar guided him a lot about this profession. He also got an incredible opportunity to work with celebrity designer, Mr. Aurain Nayaab. For me the most important thing about film is the script then director and then comes the character because I believe no matter how good the character, if script and director are unable to pull it off to showcase it's of no use.

Q. According to you, What does an Actor search or hunt for through his/her Art? Does the journey of Acting has a particular destination? Ans. An actor always search for good roles, Good films and definitely appreciation!! Appreciation ya keh lijiye "Taaliyaan" is the hunger of any Artist!!! Surely money matters a lot in this world (he giggles) But jokes a part, An Actor doesn't have any destination as such. If you ask any Artist they never get satisfied with what they have done. Because they always wanna do more and more which I think is joy of being an Artist. This is how you explore life and live it to the fullest
Q. According to you what are the biggest obstacles to become an Actor? Ans. To be an actor there is no obstacle but yes, to become a successful Actor there are definitely a lot. As I always say Acting isn't an easy job what usually people think. It's an education, a lifelong learning which never ends. Every day you learn something new, explore it on screen and evolve as an actor. So, I myself am following the process simply and ready to face every obstacle.
Q. Do you have any process as an actor? Ans. Honestly I don't think there is any particular process for an actor, It changes with time and roles. Acting means portraying a character in such a way that people believe it as truth and we learn it all by observing real incidents around us. Q. As an actor what do you think about currently trending Web series and OTT Page 43
platforms? Ans. Well, I think we are living in the best times where the digital medium has emerged as a boon for the actors. It has opened up more opportunities. There is wonderful content trending on OTT platforms. We see reality unfiltered as it seems. But at the same time, there is a section of OTTs which is working only on economic manner to make money, where the contents are too adult to be screened on TV or any platform which is accessible to everyone. And the problem it has created for actors is that they are being offered bold, intimate scenes which crosses the line of Indian cinema somewhere or the other!

Sumathi Abhylaasha Nair, Known as Abhylaasha Nair aged 39, currently residing in Jaipur. I’m a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with cancer in the 2004. This is how it all started. I met with a serious car accident in 2004 that resulted in multiple injuries to my body. Doctors started my treatment when they found out that my blood reports showed active cancer cells in my body. Further line of tests were conducted to confirm the same. Finally, it was diagnosed that I’m having breast cancer Stage III. Surprisingly, I was the youngest diagnosed cancer patient ever because I was just in my mid 20s and it’s rather very rare to be diagnosed with breast cancer at that age. I had already suffered multiple fractures due to the accident that had made me bedridden for months and now, on top of that to make matters worse, I was struck with the serious illness that’s called Cancer – the dreaded big C!. At that point of time, my entire world blacked out. I wasn’t ready to hear more or to take more because I was already in pain due to multiple injuries from the accident. But then, I wasn’t given a choice but to accept what is happening to me. I had to undergo mastectomy in the year November 2004 where most of my breast tissues had been removed including my nipple, I do not have a nipple on my right breast. Then, had to continue with this IV medication called Tamoxifem, which is to be taken every 4 months once for 5 years which lowers the rate of cancer coming back but all depending on your immune system too. My right breast is totally removed and it’s been like a deeply scooped ice cream hole in my right chest. It wasn’t easy for me to suddenly see a huge change in my body in a horrific way. Nevertheless, the Specialists opined that they would be conducting a Mammoplasty, a reconstructive surgery. Again, I wasn’t given a choice but accept the line of treatment before my chemotherapy gets started. I had much complications from excessive scars, tissues not building up, multiple hematomas (a collection of blood outside the blood vessels causing blood to, leak into surrounding tissues causing swelling and tremendous pain), and excessive loss of blood causing me to need couple of blood transfusing and thinning out of my chest muscle making it hard to hold the implanted tissues and many other such serious complications.Thereafter, I went though chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which was the toughest moment for me because I was recommended 26 times of chemo and 11 times of radiation therapy! After my 5th chemo I lost 80 percent of my hair and my skin started darkening gradually. By my 12th chemo and 5th radiation I was completely bald, my skin became driedup and completely darkened & in fact blackened. I was having fragile and very dry skin with tremendous pain. I couldn’t be touched due to the fragile skin breakouts. My nails became like popcorn and it dropped off itself during those treatments. After 1-1/2 years of those treatments, I completely dried inside with multiple internal organ complications and I wasn’t having a hope that I could survive because of my condition that the chemo has done to me ! The situation was pretty bad & grim I would say.

After 4 long years of waiting, I started to have hair re-growth and I was happy to see that at least I have some hair. I did not have the same colour complexion and the thickness of my original hair that I used to have, but something is better than nothing. I persevered and made it through all of the surgeries, treatments and complications with the help of God and support from my Doctors, Family and friends. It was deeply emotionally taxing on me but I also learnt that I was stronger than I thought and that God was with me & watching over me. After all, being strong was very important for my healing process. I knew that seeing me in the mirror was the hardest thing, but I ignored the ugly me and started to embrace the NEW ME! I firmly believe that if you are good person inside then you will definitely look good outside. After all this time that has passed, it took many years just to accept and embrace the new weird me.
MOTIVATION TO FIGHT CANCER My main motivation to fight cancer was the fact that I have a great family to be here for. I wanted to show many that you never give up and you fight to the end. I also wanted to show them that no matter what hurdles you come across in life you have the willpower to get through it. Also, not that I ever compared my situation to anybody else’s because what I have gone through is relative to me and what I know, however I do see what is going on in the world and that people are dying from horrible disease and living very difficult lives, so therefore I am fortunate to be healthy and have a life to do something for myself and others.
The biggest hindrance in my journey was the fact that some people look at me as though, I’m an alien from another planet and putting myself through undue stress and pain with all the surgeries and complications. But they are not in my shoes and they have not had any of their female body parts mutilated. They don’t see what I see when I remove my clothes. I have long since come to terms with my scarred breast i.e half of my breast and my one nipple. I have developed a permanent lymph node damage where all my lymphatic nodes are permanently damaged leaving marks which is not curable & repairable till date. I know people mean well, but sometimes they say things they don’t realize, or even their lack of knowledge for the matter and many times insensitive. If I wasn’t a strong person I would let them affect me, but I have grown past that now, as I know my reason for being myself and that’s all that matters. I want to go through a better reconstruction surgery in near future to boost my self-confidence and flaunt whatever assets I have.

MESSAGE TO OTHER CANCER PATIENTS To all my pink sisters out there, don’t let your scars define you. You are not your scars. Your scars are only reminder that you’ve survived what was trying to kill you. Don’t give up, you are a warrior! Today, at this age, I put myself together and decided to do something for myself and to the Society that looks down on me and prove that nothing is impossible. If you are determined to achieve, then anything is possible. Age is just a number but you need to have the courage to move forward. Today I’m a Plus size model ! All thanks to Mr Yatish Jain who launched me through his Agency- Kaalia Production House. Mr. Yatish came into my life as a Guardian Angel lifting me out of my comfort zone, pushing me, motivating me and launching me before the world! His keen sense of observation made him spot the spark in me and my passion for modelling. His constant guidance and encouragement made me lose my inhibition in front of the camera. If he wouldn’t have given me a chance to prove myself, I wouldn’t be here before you proving my capabilities as a model. Initially, I just didn’t have the guts to come forward and participate. However, Mr Yatish placed his trust and confidence in my potential and groomed me to give my best. Apart from that, my brother and his family has been my backbone in supporting me to achieve my goals. My only goal is to create awareness in this industry to many women out there, nothing is impossible if you put yourself to it. I want to be an inspiration to women out there, to tell them not to think yourself as weak. We are NOT weak, but have been weakened. Standup and walk tall, go forward, believe in your Dreams and this situation will change. I want to make the impossible, possible. That’s all. I’m a fighter as a warrior princess & will always be. Hello there, My name is Antalya Dowling, and I am an Australian twitch streamer and tiktok / instagram model. My day job is as a hospital pharmacist, which is a great and reliable profession. Whilst being able to make a difference in others' lives as a pharmacist remains rewarding, social media is my true passion. I may be somewhat late to the game, only really building my social media presence in the last year or two, but in this time I have grown a strong following with my unique style and fit physique. I would love to turn social media/modelling/entrepreneurship into a reliable source of income, but being a pharmacist pays the bills for now.
I believe sheer determination will get me there, as I actively peruse opportunities rather than wait for them to come to me. While I have a passion for swimwear, lingerie, and other styles that display my body, I have an open mind towards modelling in different genres. My partner is a talented photographer and we shoot most of our content with manual-focus vintage camera lenses that allow for a unique and expressive style. While the rendering is typically nostalgic and reminiscent of the 1920s-60s, I like to put my own twist on things and keep a contemporary style too. One major struggle I recently faced was the loss of my Tiktok account and it's approximately 170k and (growing fast) followers. This was particularly devastating as the account was really starting to take off, and I had multiple viral videos in the millions of views and likes. Unfortunately, it's an increasingly common occurrence on Tiktok, and there's not much content creators can do to get their account back, or even find out exactly why it happened. I've tried to get back into it, and will keep trying, but it's really slow to start again from scratch. I don't want to give up, but it will take patience and a strong will.

Hi myself Ruma Das. Being a dark skin tone girl in our society it is not easy to avoid criticism. To prevent those type of unwanted event, I turned myself as BLACK BEAUTY/THE BLACK LADY, because I love myself so much and also worried for others like me those had same type of problem. I turned my negative point which is several times pointed to me by very few people in the society into positive side of mine. I wont criticise the entire socity but for those few of them i feel sorry, but i belive i will be the example for them that skin tone dose not matter in front of true tallent and a kind heart. Back in 2020, when Covid took over the world, I was sitting bored at home, looking for something to do. But never have I ever thought I would get the offer to be a model. A page that sold sharee, offered me to model for them. I always loved wearing sharee. My admiration for sharee is never-ending. I feel myself at my best when the fabrics of colours embrace me. At first, I only did it because I loved wearing sharee. I didn’t know anything about how my works were and if they were up to the mark. So I was content with the payment I received during those times. Not gonna lie, it was not much. However, with time, I got familiar with the environment. I learned lots of things, and most importantly, I learned about myself and what I am worth. The support from my family fed my confidence with appreciation and motivation. I began to recognise myself, I acknowledged my struggles and the effort I put into my work. And suddenly, everything became more clear to me. My self-acknowledgement took me to where I am now. From being an exploited, manipulated model for a year, I am now satisfied with what I accomplish and gain from my work. Besides modelling for sharee and dresses, I do live sessions and product promotion. Recently I have started creating content. My content is based on makeup and skincare. Surprisingly, these contents too got widely popular within a short span of time. In addition, I get offers every day. And I am doing all this along with my study. Overall, I am in the place where I dreamt of being. I struggled and faced difficulties but always had support and sturdy confidence. That’s what pushed me to where I stand now. Ehsaas "The Second Inning" organized by Ehsaas Charitable Trust Navya Sarjana Sanstha 75 Amrit Festival of Independence. Held on 16th April at ISKCON Auditorium. The main objective of this program was to make people with disabilities and our seniors aware of the arts. Team Ehsaas aims to bring special kids, slum kids, differently abled and general children together on a single platform. Navya Sarjan Sanstha has been organizing such programs for the last many years, in this program children participate in ramp walk, dance and painting. Awards are also kept in this program, which are awarded to the talent working in different fields. This year there were many themes in this program – Women Empowerment, Senior Walk Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, Kids Walk, Special Program by Nirvana Kids Designer Kids Walk, Senior Walk was organized for the first time in Delhi. In this program the children of Navya Sarjana and Children of Child Home also gave a dance A painting competition was also held here on the performance. theme 75 Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, in which children of Child Home and Ehsaas Ek Pathshala Mangolpuri participated, the judges of this competition were Aarti Mehta ji, Mohi ji and Zoya and judges of Kids Fashion Show Supreme Court. He even tried to kill me and daughters. So one night I decided to leave him forever to escape myself with my two children from his domestic violences. I divorced him and came back home with my two daughters and stayed with my mother. I myself challenged that I will one day become a model. Suddenly one of my sister introduced me to participate on Mrs.Darpan India North East Peagent Contest In 2016 which was held at Guwahati. It was my first platform. With God's Grace I was crowned with two awards Mrs. Popular Award and Mrs. Public Choice. In early 2017 was crowned Mrs. Worldwide India and I was selected to represent my country India at Mrs. Worldwide International Beauty Contest which was held at Singapore in August 2017.
I am with my mother when she came back from office but I never see my father in my childhood days. How much I wanted to see my father, When I asked my mother, she told one day you will see your father. I prayed to God to send my father to me soon but never happened. As time goes I was grown up. It was in 2004 my mother got transferred to Delhi Manipur Bhawan. I was 18 years old. We came to Delhi together. I joined as girls guide at Prakati Maidan during India International Trade fair, as a part-time job. I also joined as speech and notator at CDAC Institute Noida. I got married to RK. Devendro Singh in the year 2005.I also serve as cordinator at Jawahar Lal Nehru Bhawan. In 2007 I gave birth to my first daughter RK. Dainty from this time onwards I got lot of pressure from my husband asking me to take money from my mother for his business. I but don't entertain his ideas. I also faced domestic violences from my husband but compromise everything and stayed. In the year 2010 I gave birth to my second daughter. My husband was expecting me to give birth to a baby boy but everything was Gods plan. With my second girl child was treated inhuman by husband he has neglected me. From then, he used to be with other ladies. Frequent party with other ladies and I was treated like a paid servant. When he drunk he use to say that Iam not looking woman, a woman who cannot give birth a baby boy and so many words that hurts me. I continuously faced domestic violences.

I was crowned Mrs. Worldwide International "The Most Courageous" woman of the Year 2017. I also worked as Woman social activist, I have worked with Delhi Police as Delhi Police for NorthEast Representive. I have worked many victims of racial discrimination and women who faced domestic violences. The concept of “Ancient Kylakshanik Kala” is a great way to showcase the beauty of ancient Indian sculpture & philosophy and no one could have created and captured the essence of this beauty like ABHISHEK GOSWAMI. As we have seen in our previous issues he is a great artist and when it comes to plan & execute conceptual photo shoots we only think about him. On behalf of our magazine I was privileged to have a conversation with him, to know more about what he tried to express via this concept photo shoot and understand the process of creating such outcomes and how he implied all the needed techniques to get the desired outcome.
Mridula: When we talk about “Ancient Kylakshanik Kala” or figurative artwork how would you explain it and what have you expressed as your captures? Abhishek: When we see any ancient sculpture we often see that this was the most favourable medium of artistic expression in Ancient India. As we all know that Indian builders were profusely adorned with beautiful sculpture and indeed are often inseparable from it. The subject matter of Ancient Indian sculpture was almost invariably abstracted human form that expressed the righteous way of life. The nudity was used to represent the body as a symbol of spirituality and displayed the act of lively activities, it can be said be a form of visual education for ancient Indians of that era. Nudity or sexual intimacy wasn’t a taboo in that era and thus expressed by the means of artworks. This open minded approach amazed me since ever and I find it the most free state of mind.

Mridula:This seems to be a very complicated subject and why did you choose this subject? Abhishek: The reason for me to choose this subject was to display our rich ancient heritage regarding art & philosophy. These are one of the oldest art forms to exist, rooting itself as a widespread practice of Ancient India. Sculpture was a way to capture or document lifestyle and practices & further more to educate & to express philosophy as well. Ancient artwork talks a lot about the civilization in which it grew, it makes us think about its development in art and philosophy. So, when I look at any ancient sculpture I see the beauty of Love, Freedom, Liberty, Strength and Freedom of Expression which was so much present in that era. As you said that this is a complicated subject; for me there is no complication in the subject. As I always believe that sharing & expressing the truth is as easy as breathing. The real reason for complication is hypocrisy and incapability to accept the inner core of our mind. Thus we have to accept ourselves at first to get rid of complications.
Mridula: How did you plan the shoot and what did you want to express in these beautiful artworks?

Abhishek: To implement this I required both male and female models and required appropriate props. I choose multani clay as the appropriate makeup material to give the models the look and feel of ancient sculptures. I wanted to express the essences of love, purity, acceptance, freedom & divinity of the truth ; The truth we can see of feel by accepting ourselves.
Mridula: How did you visualize the concept and what kind of preparation went into creating these final outcome? Abhishek: I visualized the Divine Aura what I wanted to depict through these pictures. The perfectionism in the ancient sculptures could be depicted by involving real human as models covered in multani clay. The cracks in the layer of semi dried clay on the models bodies depicts the lost knowledge & philosophy & our missing links with our own heritage. Preparation took in many steps:Selecting appropriate models who could be able to express adequate postures & expressions. Creating storyboards. Choosing proper makeup techniques & implying the same. Choosing & implying appropriate props.

Mridula: What are the technical aspects involved in this? The technical aspects involved in this shoot were:Models comfort. Designing the set. Assembling & manipulating with props. Choosing appropriate camera and lens setting likeFocal length for proper frame and perspective. Aperture for proper depth of field. Lights to give it the sculpture look. Angle of vision to depicts divinity.
Mridula: As we see “Kylakshanik Kala” how would you differentiate it from being vulgar and express the beauty in this outcome? Abhishek: “Kylakshanik Kala” or figurative art was present in all of the ancient human civilizations since ever. In my opinion, we as a global society became conservative or less open minded since the last 2000 years or so. I find utmost purity in figurative art or nudity being involved into it. It depends upon our way of perceiving things. I would say that hypocrisy is vulgar; but neither figurative art nor nudity. The sexual intimacy is also has been depicted in many of these sculptures or artworks of any form in all ancient civilization all over the world. Sex could be the most divine act if everyone involves into it feels the pleasure and if it is done in a manner to keep yourself healthy in every aspect. The problem arises when the conservative approach unofficially claims Sex & Nudity as taboo, but can’t avoid it as we are seeing the global population increasing day by day. The progressive approach would be to accept ourselves and getting rid of contradiction or hypocrisy.
