ou hear Ghaziabad, and you don’t exactly imagine a star being born there. But, if Sujata Baudh had thought that way a few years ago, she wouldn’t be where she is today. She instead believed that being from a lesser-known place built a strong foundation for her. She found herself more deeply connected to the culture and traditions of India. She believes in the power and beauty of small-town girls who make up their minds to make it big. Once decided, beauty pageants are just one step to the glory that awaits them in the much bigger world. After all, that’s how her journey began. Having won the talent round of Miss exquisite Pageant in 2016, Sujata made her first mark in the realm of beauty queens. From that day to the day she landed herself two valuable appearances on a famous daily soap- “Laal Ishq”, she’s been unstoppable. Unstoppable towards her dreams of making it into the glorious world of beauty and fashion. This became easier when she won Tantra, the Moksh best catwalk. This show opened up tons of doors to her dreams. She once decided to follow her dreams despite having done B.Tech from a well known University. And then she landed in Mumbai to pursue these dreams. This girl from a small city has set an example for millions of other girls like her. She could have easily gone for a job that pays consistently after her graduation, but she instead proved what a person can achieve if he is strong enough to stick to their dreams. A TV show, numerous songs, and one blockbuster Haryanvi song with over a million views on YouTube are what a girl from a small town achieved with strong will and determination. Even a huge stone-like Covid pandemic in the pathway of her success right when she was at her peak couldn’t stop her. She decided to make it through and she did. That’s when she put her other asset besides her beauty to use her mind. She indulged in stock market trading and saved herself from drowning in all the possible setbacks of the pandemic. She could have turned to her parents for help, but instead decided to fight her battle alone. Books inspired her and taught her the tricks of trade , with discipline she found a way to support her dreams and goals . This just proves that she’s not just a lady with looks as sharp as a knife, but also a lady with a mind that helps her move forward. She now rules the hearts of many Indian youngsters with over 95k followers on Instagram where she constantly drops her stunning pictures. She has and will continue to influence many through social media being the all-rounder that she is. Model, Actor, Trader, Influencer, and whatnot! This small-town girl has shown what somebody with potential can achieve.

In my journey, for the last 5 years, Yoga has been a part of my life and my practice helped me grow stronger and more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspired me to live each moment more mindfully. To continue my passion and love for Yoga, in 2019 I completed my 200 hour Teaching Training Course in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga (Yoga Alliance Registered) from "World Peace Yoga School" Rishikesh India, and acquired an in-depth knowledge about postures, breathing techniques, and spiritual elements of yoga teaching. I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me. Now I wish to help those who are willing to break open, find and connect with their true-selves. I want to share my own light by conducting classes as a personal coach and online to aspiring Yogis through my youtube channel ‘Fitness Mantra by Pooja’. In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help students deepen their practice. , this is Manisha Tambade this side.I am a model and actress based in Mumbai and looking for good modeling

My hometown is Pune and I have shifted to Mumbai about 3 years back. It’s a great opportunity to share my career so far with all of you and my experiences. About myself, I have done my BBA and MBA in finance from Pune before moving to Mumbai. I did theatre for sometime and then moved to Mumbai to achieve my aspirations in this industry.

I was fortunate enough to get casted in 3 music videos, one was a Marathi one going by the name “Tujhya Gavhacha” released on Times Music Marathi which is sung by “Javed Ali” the second one was hindi song “Ashiqui ho meri” released on ankur music channel and the third one was “Ve Soniya” released on Zee Music Company. This gave me a very good response in my career and I started getting calls fr tv serials in which I started getting small roles. I also did a Telegu TV serial “Rudhrama Devi” wherein I played the role of Mallika, Also did Fashion Lifestyle Photoshoot with Celebrity Fashion Designer Archana Kochhar and a Fashion Photoshoot with ace photographer Sharat Chandra. I have being doing a lot of print shoots and Catalogue shoots. The pandemic has been a testing time as work reduced so I started learning dance and working on my acting skills. About the future, well I cant list the number of things here in the list but to make It short..I want to do ad campaigns ,hoarding shoots,South movies,TV serials,Hindi movies,Music videos,good content web series and ofcourse I would like to work with legendry actors. My fitness is mostly circulated on yoga. Have a strong taste for branded items in fashion,jewllery,cosmetics and perfumes.

I started my Profession in 2019,before that I was Persuing MBA, I have 2 years of experience in this field. I am certified from Lakme Academy. I have worked with many photographers, Models, Actors and make-up Artists. I do Bridal make up,Party makeup,Fantasy makeup,Fashion, Portfolio , Pre-wedding, events and many more as a freelancer. Mahakali Concept is one of them,this just clicked in my mind as a Navratri theme and I made it just as thought. I always wanted to try Fantasy makeup so I chose Kaali Maa fantasy Makup look on Navratri Special,It’s like a cheery on the Cake. My Model and the Photographer are two main part of this wonderful shoot. The Model has done an amazing job portraying Mahakali,was giving beautiful expressions look like a pure soul and the photographer’s work was just alluring,the amount of time and hard work it took get that one beautiful shot and it was surreal. It was an amazing experience trying out a whole new concept and with some amazing people involved in this Shoot and One more thing I want to add that my mentor and model’s mentor Mr. Tapas Das sir has helped us out a-lot and supported us making this concept a reality. Mahakali The Goddess Goddess Kali is regarded as the most fierce and destructive form of Shakti. She has a dark complexion, red eyes and has four arms. Shakti in the form of Goddess Durga was summoned to kill the demon. Mahakali Represents supremacy of Nature over man because Shiva lying at Kali's feet at the time of Rakta Beej known as “demon”. It clearly shows that without Kali or Shakti even a powerful force like Lord Shiva is unable to move. Mahakali also represents Women power how women reacts when a demon like rakta beej doing something evil and How to stop it. She destroys the evil in order to protect the innocent. Durga is a form of kali which we workship in navratri festival , On another hand Kali's blackness which is symbolic of eternal darkness and which has the potential to both destroy and create. Navratri is a festival which celebrates the victory of good over evil and is celebrated in various ways all over India. Devotees observe fasts, while there are also dandia and garba functions. It is also during this time that Durga Puja is celebrated, which is festival of the Bengalis and people can see all kinds of creative pandals during these days. In art, Kali in her feminine form is most often portrayed with blue or black skin, naked, and wearing a Bengali type crown of clay which is painted or gilded. She is, like many Hindu deities, a multiple-armed figure with the number of arms being four, eight, ten, twelve, or even eighteen. Each arm usually holds an object and these can include a sword, dagger, trident, cup, drum, chakra, lotus bud, whip, noose, bell, and shield. Sometimes her left hand forms the abhaya mudra, whilst the right makes the offering varada mudra. She is often represented seated with legs crossed and having eight feet. She represents nature at its rawest and most untamed. She is the culmination of all that is strength and power. She is loving without being devoted. She is the ultimate mother—the mother of all power—without being reduced to the role of a mother.

One of my friend told me about the theatre and Than i came to Mandi house, Delhi at first time in 2014. There i met Mr. Hanu Yadav sir, he is the professor there at NSD. After that i joined Maqam theatre society and did theatre as a freelancer with different kind of group's. I did shows with Ramji Bali and also took some workshop by Happy Ranjeet ji. I had faith in myself and I knew I could over come these challenges .i always wanted to be a model. So I have persuaded it. I never gave up and I wanted to keep moving up.

Siting in front of the camera by myself or walking a long the stage gives me the confidence that I always looked for.it takes courage to be a model.

My biggest accomplishment was on a 2018 project.called “kadib” presented in Frankfurt ,Germany.this project was about Iranian culture and tradition around the fashion and modeling.this project lead me to improve and gain progress and be known internationally.

As a kid, I used to love fashion shows on FASHIONTV, and I loved it from an early age. When I grew up, I studied engineering at the insistence of my family, and since there was no modeling agency in Iran, I completely forgot about modeling until I was accidentally offered a job by a mason and from there I was able to find a way in this profession and despite all the limitations, I was able to pursue a career that I was interested in.

Standing in front of camera and shooting and that's because of it makes my mind go free

Understanding The “Leela” By - Abhishek Goswami

Now days most of the people definition of love is complex. Is it really that complicated or simplest aspect of life! Some people may say that love is just desire; some people say that love is that state of mind, when it gets absolutely free from desire. But can life exist without desire. Here, I chose this complex subject “Leela” (rather than regular concepts like in my previous articles & pictures in the previous issue) to depict in my pictures this time and who could be better than “KRISHNA” to display this philosophy. Leela depicts a school of thought which helps you to understand the art of living being detached (in which we can achieve utmost happiness from the outcome) but being fully involved in related acts and completing worldly tasks or being in state of trying so. One could say that we have to be much mature to understand Leela. It’s not just about being physically intimate with other. Weather it could be really possible to get involved and rather celebrate the physical intimacy while being detached in real inside. It is just an external (visual) expression of divine love (most balance state of utmost imbalance i.e. LIFE) which takes place in minds of each and every individual; it’s between finite (individual) and the universal soul. Here we showcase it visually in from of KRISHNA (being the universal net/soul) and individuals (as Gopies, Radha, Meera, Rukmani, etc). Here in these pictures we can see the visuals displaying their state mind & connection (or practicing of getting connected being enlighten which comes with absolute freedom only) and the school of thought which helps in practicing being detached while being involved fully in worldly things which is depicted via the character “KRISHNA” in the given pictures.

Why did you chose this subject and how complex was it, when the visual implication took place?

When words can’t express, visual can. So to portray this “External expression” of the divine love. I used this theme and tried to express the said school of thought or the art of living. It was complex as of its deep symbolic nature in every aspect. A little variation in any element of the story could change the whole point of view, being displayed as the final outcome. So, the visual implication was tricky and I was thinking about it since the last few months.

How did you develop the characters?

Developing the characters was so important as there is limitation to portray a said number of characters to display the full essence of the theme. So, I choose three main characters with little variations, other than the lead character who is depicting “UNIVERSAL SOUL” here it is “Krishna” of course.

How you visualized the implied postures and expressions to portray such a storyline/philosophy?

Postures and expression were crucial to depict the real essences of the emotions, state of mind and universal happening in the system “Leela”. Different posture and expression were implied for each and every individual which is visually implied on the character in these pictures. For an example: You can find the expression of devotion from one character, dedication from the other character and utmost humble state of mind from the one sitting below.

What was the planning behind the compositions?

Composition was tricky as to fit all the characters in the frame with equal importance noticeable expression elements presented in them. Moreover, the set design and other elements in the foreground and background were aligned in a way so that the viewers can feel the ambience as it has been described over and over in the literature. I had to make a balance in the visual by hiding and exposing elements as to portray the said intimacy but not to let the viewers distracted much from the real essence of the philosophy.

How did you select the lights for these visuals to create drama?

Lights play a major role in the visuals, to give a feeling of spirituality, divine character and epic nature of the story. I chose a strong back light to apply the flares, smoky background to add in magic. Strong rim light where applied on chosen body parts and elements selectively to make them standout. To create a balance in all over composition and importance of the characters and their related expression & postures.

7 important steps to becoming a successful model

1. Know Your Market

One of the most important steps to becoming a model is knowing your market. What does this mean? Well, for starters, depending on the area you live in, certain trends and looks are more popular than others. For instance, if you live in the south , runway modeling and fashion show modeling are not as widespread as commercial modelling for print occasions like magazines, newspapers and store sales papers. Also knowing your market will help you know what look the agencies around you are looking for. Living in a suburban area , agencies aren’t looking for that sleek, ultra-sexy look with overstated hair or makeup like bigger cities are. In fact, the more natural look is actually preferred in suburban areas, while more trendy, sleek looks are wanted in the city. If your look doesn’t fit your market, move to an area that does, or consider travelling back and forth to an area that does. Also know whether you’re auditioning for a market that advertises petite sizes, plus sizes, certain clothing trends, or for a targeted market like natural living, city trends, cosmetic companies, etc. Research, research, research!

2. Find a Good Agency

The best thing you can do for yourself is to find a good agency to work with. Agencies should not ask for money up front, or be sketchy in terms of signing anyone possible, which could mean that they run off with the models' earnings later. Get online and search The Better Business Bureau’s website to find a modelling agency you can trust. A good agency should understand your personal needs as a model, lift you up, and never take money from you. They should also never ask you to put yourself in a dangerous or compromising situation.

3. Be Aware

One of my top tips for becoming a model is to be aware of what you’ll face. Know that girls can be cut-throat, the wrong agencies may ask you to sacrifice your morals, integrity or beliefs just to obtain certain photos, and know that it can be a very tiring job. Also be aware that the idea of modelling is not to give you fame, but instead to create a certain wanted look by photographers and companies. You may be asked to cut or color your hair, wear an outfit you don’t like, or spend endless hours travelling to the right photo shoot location just for one shot. You may also be on set for anywhere from 8-12 hours or even more. Know ahead of time that the point of using a model is to create the right photo. Many photographers, agencies and product campaigns put the photo goal ahead of the model’s needs.

4. Keep Your Values

Many girls who don’t intend on compromising their values end up doing so if they don’t know ahead of time just what their values are. Don't ever sacrifice yourself to be a model. The modelling world can be laced with drugs, alcohol, sex-trades, rape, greed and more if you get in with the wrong crowd, which is easy to do when you're looking for a quick route to fame and fortune. Never do anything it takes to get to the top. I can promise you that you’ll regret it later. Outside of local modelling gigs, most outlets for modelling lead to sketchy, compromising situations. Know your values and stick to your guns! On the other hand, the right agencies will honour your values and can lead you to a great career.

5. Get Some Practice

Don’t expect to walk into a modelling agency, do a few twirls and expect them to sign you. Having worked in an agency, I can tell you anywhere from 10-20 people a day walked through the doors unexpectedly asking to meet with the owners of the agency. Agencies are extremely busy and usually have girls fill out paperwork and submit photos for review. They almost never see girls by just walking in. Know this ahead of time and get some practice behind your belt. If you do get called in for a meet and greet, you need to keep your look casual, yet also have a confident walk and not look fake. Practice, practice, practice!

56 6. Get a Good Headshot

When it comes to the modelling industry, you won’t get anywhere without a good headshot to get you started. Have someone you know or a photographer take a natural headshot of you. No photo-touching, hardly any makeup, and simple hair should be the top three key points of your photo. I’m serious, girls! Modelling agencies hate Photoshopped pictures, makeup, fancy hair styles, or overdone looks. They want to see you in the raw to see if you could transformed into a variety of looks. Remember, you're pretty just as you are, so let those agencies see you for you! Most importantly, no Glamour Shot photos!

7. Know the Odds The modelling industry is one of the hardest careers to achieve and maintain. Most models who haven’t been modelling up to age 22 are almost guaranteed they won’t make it in the runway industry unless they seek out commercial modelling options. You don’t need to be a certain size to model, nor do you need to look a certain way. You just need to know what the odds are in the market you’re in. If you don’t look like a runway model, that’s fine! Know the odds of what you face in terms of the area you live, what your look has to offer, and how hard each specific outlet for modelling is, such as commercial or runway. The most important thing you can do to become a model is to be yourself! Never change who you are on the inside or outside to make someone else happy. Modelling can be a great way to gain self-confidence and can help you make money on the side of a regular day job. Never sacrifice yourself, your values or your self-esteem to do so! These steps will lead you to being a successful and happy model.

name is Aakansha Tiwari from delhi. i am in 3rd year in Delhi University and I am a freelance model. Apart from this I am also a NCC (national cadet corps) cadet, as I also love this field, I know ncc and modling are very different fields, but I wanted to make an example that woman can do everything in every field.

I did many shoots with famous makeup artists and photographers as I am also a face model. I did designer shoots as well for designer outfits. I also did ramp shows like "Pride of Hindustan", Sumit chawla designer show, Global fashion week at mMarvah studio etc. Recently I am selecting for first miss india 2021 in 30 finalist all over India, final held in Goa. It was actually a dream come true for me and I am really thankful to Tapas Das sir, my mentor for this opportunity.

From my childhood I love dancing, acting and modeling, and I used to see myself like a diva. I want to make career in this field, as I don't have any background, also my parents don't want me to go in this field, but I am very desperate about this field, so I convinced my parents. It took a long time but finally i started modling from my college when I am in 1st year (2019). I joined fashion society of my college, I just gave audition randomly, and got selected. From there it started more interest in modling, and then covid happen and we all know what happen to us. A lot of people put me down , about this field, this field is not for me, because I didn't do what they wanted, so they stated making me negative. At a certain point of time, I wanted to leave this field and then miracle happened. One day I am using instagram, and I met the owner of DCT model management of Delhi ( Tapas Das). As I am new , I really don't know how to grow in this field, and he helped me a lot in this. He groomed me very well in the lockdown period as I had a proper time to groom myself. Tapas sir actually a blessing for me, he helped me a lot , not only this, he has also got me many projects after lockdown and I m greatful to him for that. Whenever I feel demotivated or low I just called Tapas sir and he actually helped me a lot to be motivated. I still have a lot of work to do and I think it's all my starting now. I have to work very hard to achieve more and make my parents proud. And last I just wanted to say do what makes your soul happy. There will be many challenges but you always have to fight it. You will face lot of rejections but you have to face it because rejection teaches a lot. There is no failure, either you win or you will learn.
