Shilpa Sharma is an experienced Model, Actor and Dancer who hails from the Northeastern State of Assam. She has worked across India, right from her home state Assam, to cities Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkatta, to name a few. She speaks Hindi, English, Bengali and learning Tamil these days. Apart from her modelling work she is actively involved in working with NGOs and also work for some old-age homes and people living on roadside, along with her team. In her words “Modelling is my art, my passion, I think I am born for facing the camera”. Shilpa was born in a small town of Assam named Gossaigaon. She was a very naughty kid and more like a tomboy. In those early days she started learning classical dance forms like Bharat Natyam. When she was 15, she used to watch a lot of FTV and where seeing those tall foreign models walk the ramp made her dream to walk like them one day. That was the first instance when she thought of modelling and seeds of getting into fashion and glamour industry got planted. Unfortunately due to her height that dream could never materialize. Nevertheless her mother taught her to think out of the box and gave her the confidence to achieve her dreams. She inspired Shilpa and all thanks to her that Shilpa could make it this big, since the village from where Shlipa comes, no girl can even dream of being a model. Apart from her mother, Shilpa considers Kangna Ranaut to be her role model, her movie Fashion and her ramp walk in that blew her mind and motivated her a lot to emulate her in everything. Her first exposure was when she got a call from Northeast Style Up Season 2 in 2015 which was held in Guwahati, Assam, a couple of photographers there wanted to do her shoot. Initially she was very nervous when makeup was going on, however as she started to pose, she gained confidence and the photographers liked an appreciated her posing a lot. The modelling scene in Assam is quite good and you see a lot of talent. Many renowned events and fashion shows get organized in Guwahati which provide valuable exposure to the local talent, eg. Northeast India Fashion Weekend, East India Fashion week, etc. In 2017 at the age of, Shilpa thought of moving out and came to Delhi where she met Mr. Tapas Das owner of DCT Model Management who groomed and polished her to enhance her skills. Looking at future she looks forward to doing some web series and movies and mainly want to do some projects in South film industry, Tamil, Telugu. Her words for freshers are “Be confident about what you are whom you are no matters from where you are coming what skin color you have what is the background do you have ... just be confident n be positive do hard works you can be a achiever ...” Spot’less Fashion Magazine Team wishes her all the success in her future endeavours. How did you get into bodybuilding? In 2017 I worked as a dancer in Macau for a few weeks. There I met a young woman who was very well trained and muscular. That fascinated me and I wanted to look like it too. In Macau there is a large outdoor training park on the promenade, where we went to train together. When I came back to Germany, I bought a barbell and a few other weights, read books on muscle building and nutrition, wrote myself a training plan and then started training at home. After a few weeks then I signed up for a gym. What do you like about the sport? You can change your appearance for the better. Food is not your enemy but your friend. You feel healthier and stronger. You get stronger mentally. You have been training for four years now. What is your training like? Has anything changed over the years? In my first year, I trained four times a week. Monday Tuesday, Thursday Friday. The first few weeks full body, then I did a double split, then a triple and then a quadruple split. I followed a strict training plan that I put together for myself. I gathered my knowledge about training and nutrition from books, internet articles and YouTube. Now I train five to six times a week, mostly three days at a time and then a day off, but sometimes six days. I alternate between a double and a triple split. I wouldn't make a quadruple based on my current knowledge. I now also train more by feeling - something I would definitely not recommend to beginners. By "train as you feel" I mean that I prefer not to do squats on one day, for example, but rather the less technically demanding leg press. Or that sometimes I train six days in a row, but in other weeks I notice that I need a break after three days. In addition, my technique has naturally improved over the years and I can control the muscle better. What did you look like before you started building muscle? I swayed back and forth between skinny and skinni-fat. Is there any tip you can give to newcomers to training? Control your progress! Be sure to keep a training diary in which you record that and by how much you increase your weights. Stand on the scales regularly to check your weight. Educate yourself. Nowadays there is so much valuable information on the Internet - I find it important here that you always look at at least two different sources on each topic and not blindly trust the first best. Set yourself a goal, e.g. a competition or a photo shoot. Nobody trains that hard just to look good for themselves in front of the mirror. Many women do not dare to go into the free weight area - why is that? It was the same for me at the beginning. I wasn't sure if I was doing the exercises properly and felt a bit ridiculous with my mini weights. That's why I always went to train at six in the morning for the first few months. As a woman, men will want to "help" you, and if you do not yet have the self-confidence, it can quickly discourage you if you are constantly asked that you should rather do an exercise like this or like that. That's why I'm telling you here: the boys have no more idea than you, most of them are just looking for a reason to talk to you;) How does your environment react to your physical change? Do you get nasty comments sometimes? Very positive - since I train naturally, I'm not as big as some other female bodybuilders. In addition, I have developed enormously mentally and I think that especially perceives my environment as positive; I am much stronger now and do not allow negative events to throw me off course so quickly. Every now and then it is mentioned that I shouldn't build any more muscles, or that my back is already marginalized - but I take that as a compliment. When I'm wearing clothes, you hardly ever see that I'm training. Or only people who train themselves see it. Sometimes it is a bit uncomfortable when people ask me what kind of sport I do. When you think of a bodybuilder, you always imagine a giant creature, although it's not just about size, but also about definition and symmetry. I also don't take it as a compliment to be told by non-exercisers: "It's good that you don't exaggerate" ". To my ears it sounds like, "It's good that you don't train as hard as other women." I train as hard as I can. It just takes time. How much more muscle do you want to build? As much as natural is possible. Since I've been training for four years, muscle building is now of course a little slower, but at the moment things are going very well again. I do not think that I will ever resort to anabolic steroids because the possible visual changes that could result from them would be too great a risk for me. After all, my body is my capital.

Do you do other sports? I teach pole dance and flexibility training. When is your next competition? On October 10. There I start with the GNBF (German Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation). How do you prepare for the big day? I started my competition diet two days ago (07/19/2021). I will probably have to lose about five kilograms. Since I'm starting in bikini class, I have to be lean, but not quite as ripped as the women in higher classes. Then I have to practice posing and order my competition bikini as well as shoes. The day before the competition, I get tanned with Spray Tan and I'm off to the stage! You work as a personal trainer - do you train with your customers the way you train yourself? Indeed, yes! In principle, my customers do the same exercises as me. Just not that often and for a long time. To look good, it's just not enough to just lose fat. That's why I concentrate on muscle building training with most of my clients. How are your experiences as a fitness model? Both good and bad. I started modeling before I discovered bodybuilding. First of all, I had to build up my portfolio. And since I didn't have enough money to pay a professional photographer, I did TfP shoots. Maybe I was unlucky, but in my experience 90% of all TfP photographers are just perverts who want a young girl in front of the camera. In any case, I advise inexperienced models to always take a friend with them to the shoots - or if the friend doesn't have time to at least announce them. If the photographer disagrees, you can be pretty sure that their goal is not to take professional pictures of you. Also take a look at which pictures he already has in his portfolio. Do you like them? Is that a style you'd like to try out for yourself? Get the addresses you should come to in advance and pass them on to a friend. Just in case. In the meantime I only do TfP shootings with photographers who I already know and from whom I know that the pictures are always top. (Steve Janes ,, Lakehouse_photography). Otherwise I only do pay shootings. And not with everyone either. Since I show a lot of bare skin in my pictures, it is very important for me that the photographer knows what he is doing and that the pictures do not become "cheap". Are you only traveling as a model in Germany or also abroad? So far almost exclusively in Germany. At the beginning of 2020 I had planned a shooting tour in the USA, but then Covid came. I would like to see more of the world, so I hope to be able to do some photo shoots abroad in the future. How can you be booked? For shootings, just write to Instagram (lilith_fitmodel). If you are interested in personal training, visit my website (Lena Heintze Personal Training).

"If I think about myself 10 years ago, I wouldn't be able to imagine myself as a model. I simply didn't have an idea in my head that something like this can possibly happen. My first visit to India as a tourist was mind refreshing, from different angles, and later on I decided to try my luck and agreed with one agency to cooperate as a freelance midel. Conditions they offer were much better than other agencies, so I made my choice and stayed with them for almost 3 months. During this time I had a chance to be a participant in variety of gorgeous and luxury festivals which Indians call weddings :) I had a chance to work with different brands like @bullaneo @bagsbyneonia @rabitatinc @aeronotstore and many many others. But due to some organizational issues I've lost some of my works with other brands. One of them was with designer, who's Autumn collection 2019 I will probably never find and won't see myself posing for her beautiful dresses :O But if I try to describe my modeling experience in India I would say that it's very diverse like everything in the country: one day you can work with amazing artists, talented photographers, designers, videographers, actors and next day you will get the project which gonna be something you will never share in social media and will keep asking yourself "why anyone would produce something like that".... With a hope that no one ever recognize you in this "fashion" :O

Model @yulia_tselikova Photographer @framesbyankit

But I'm glad that I had this experience quite interesting, quite unusual, quite hard, quite amazing and hopefully after all the situation was pandemic will be fixed I gonna find myself again somewhere in India doing what I love". You can connect with me on instagram @yuliya_tselikova

Fitmeansbliss By Swatee Rastogi not only lose the gains but also the enthusiasm and it will led you to start from the beginning.

5) Keep all the junk out of sight- that is not at home. Consider this as an opportunity to eat clean. Sudden realisation led me to the path I am currently on. Hello, my name is Swatee a.k.a @fitmeansbliss I have been into fitness since 2013 religiously, it all started with mopping the floor to joining aerobics class and the initial weight loss made me crave for more. Typically like everyone else I thought of fitness as being skinny and weight-loss, only after spending 5 years with that thought I got enlightened that being skinny isn't healthy. Since then, I am trying to spread the same message to all and focusing on fitness as a lifestyle.

Bonus, mark all the days in the calendar on which you did even the shortest of the session to burn the calories. This will show you the real picture and make you do the work needed.

Hope this helps!

Swatee Rastogi is an Certified Fitness Trainer (@fssa_council) and Athlete (@yproteinin) Listing own 5 things that are keeping me on track despite the fact that the gyms are closed, they might help you as well: For more tips and guidance you can connect with her on instagram @fitmeansbliss 1) Always change into your fitness wear, no matter where you are working from. 90% of the time you will end up doing something if not a full fledged workout session.

2) Write down your workout a day in advance. So that when the time comes you are not clueless about it.

3) Remember even a 15 mins workout is a workout and you can do so much in that time like Surya Namaskar, good HIIT session, running, stair climbing.

4) We all are in a situation where we feel demotivated especially if gym was your first love, but we can try to maintain or keep the body active for when the gym would open again. Because if you leave now you will

SINGER For her, singing is the most natural thing in the world. She has grown up with it and she knows she has got that as gift. "I want to be identified for my own song, not the cover ", says Pratibha Sharma. Pratibha Sharma is ecstatic over the release of her first single. She has been an ardent singer since childhood and has taken the training in classical music since she was a kid. She had to discontinue her training at the age of 12 because of studies. After completing her masters in English honors, she got married and settled in Dubai. Prioritizing studies, job and marriage, she put a break on her singing career. After 11 years of her marriage, she decided to pursue her passion professionally and moved to Mumbai. With due respect to all the exquisite and melodious singers, Pratibha aims to make a remarkable identity and uniqueness with her own song , rather than doing a cover version as she wants to be recognized as herself and not compared to the singer of the original song . We got an opportunity to rendezvous with this talented and accomplished woman and this is what she has to say about her dreams, her passion, career, her professional and personal life and some really engrossing and fascinating facts about her.

29

Yes, I always wanted to be a singer. I had started learning classical music when I was 5 years old. In early years, I have performed in various stage shows. I carry this objective since a long time. I think, I needed that kick when it hit my mind that , it's enough and I should definitely do something great in the field I excel and basically I believe that it is my forte where I can make a prosperous career . So I started my training in Hindustani music 4 years back again and put my heart and soul in to it. Who is your greatest inspiration? There is enormous flair of singing in some really consummate singers of today's time but I have been and will always be a religious follower of Lata ji. I believe she is an ace singer and has been my inspiration since I was a kid. Whom do you think your voice best suits to and who would you like to sing for? I think my voice best suits to Deepika Padukone, and I would love to sing for Deepika and Alia in future. Please throw some light on your new song release for our readers. I feel my voice sounds melodious and looks attractive on romantic numbers and this new release 'Pasand Aaya' is a romantic and soothing one too released on Zee Music. The song is composed and produced by Vipin das and Anand Raut respectively.

How did the idea of first song come about? I have done 4 cover songs before. But I have always aimed for singing my own song. My decision became firmer than any time before in the last few months and I made up my mind to execute the idea.

Please tell us the whole scenario. How did this song come to you and how was your experience with this new release? Producer & Director of this song Mr. Aanand Raut approached me through a social networking site. He Name four composers on your wish list? visited my profile and offered me a song. I was already I love the music of these four musicians and immensely looking for the opportunity like this one. So we talked and desire to work with AR Rehman sir, Pritam da, Amit Trivedi things worked out really well. It was good working with and Shankar Mahadevan. him. I felt like a dream while singing this song. The whole team, beautiful set, rolling of the cameras gave me such How does your family supports you? positive vibes that I was very excited and it was totally a My family, thankfully is really supportive. My husband has different experience. switched his job recently from Dubai to Oman and therefore we shifted to a new location. But I realised that Oman does not have huge opportunities for singers as Where do you see yourself 5 years down the line? compared to what I could experience some in Dubai. That This is just the beginning. I am a dreamer and achiever. I was the time, in December 2019, I decided that I should aim high and strive to reach the destination with full zeal move to Mumbai and try approaching the people in this and diligence. I aspire to become a playback singer and field in the industry as it would not have been possible for work with some renowned names in the industry. I would me to fly frequently from Oman to Mumbai for projects. My also want to try the Punjabi songs as I feel there is family has been exceptionally encouraging in my decision tremendous scope in Punjabi cinema for singers, and I which gave me more power to attain what I plan for. have that ardour while I sing that can bring life to a song. I am also open to connect to the audience and so willing to How was the music scene in your early years? Did you accept the offers for stage performances. always want to be a singer?

I believe that life doesn't serve you up with your fair share unless you're a go-getter. Early on in life, the middle-class lifestyle taught me to shoulder responsibilities along with instilling an ambition and a passion for modelling in me. However, to juggle between studies & modelling was no piece of cake specially considering the facts that modelling was yet to figure its place in the Sikkimese mainstream & a career in it seemed a bit far-fetched. Battling all odds, I went on to walk my first runway in the Winter Carnival of 2015. Though Walking with taller models make me feel insecure about my height, but that event presented me with the opportunities to collaborate with a lot of talented photographers all over from North-East India namely Abhimanyu Pradhan, Bizzography, Yongden Photography, StrayCam & Pappu Malik. The same year, I managed to bag the title of 'The face of the month' in the September edition of the magazine called Good News. The following year, I made appearances at the Kokkivo fashion week & Miss Kirawa (Rai) wherein I bagged the Miss Radiant Skin title. All the same, my toughest test was to come in 2017 when I participated in Miss Sikkim, to win which is the dream of many aspiring models. I gave my best but one's best sometimes is just not enough, the competition was cutthroat. Nonetheless, I triumphed

over the rest in the talent section and was adjudged Miss Talented. Besides my modelling experiences, I'm also a professional dancer & used to run an institute by the name 'Inspire Dance Academy' through which I'd also collaborated with Sanskriti.com. All my side hustles aside, I'm by profession a graduate teacher of mathematics and since I prefer keeping my mind & hands busy, I also work in an NGO called Doing Good of which I'm a member as well. To sum it up, my journey so far has been enthralling & relishable with all the highs & the lows. It has morphed me into an able person with an enhanced perspective on life. I'm still psyched up for more such modelling experiences in the future. To all the aspiring models, my greatest bit of advice for you all would be to always have trust in yourself because modelling is a sector fraught with uncertainties. One may not always get what she wants. Don’t lose your hope and keep yourself productive in all the things that you love. Being a mathematics teacher I also enjoy mathematics & teaching as equally as modelling. Lastly, you'll all shine at the right time, conquer your fear and insecurities but before that, learn to make struggle a part of your story & never ever give up ! "Ever since my childhood, I was a very curious and adventurous kid. During the day, I helped my father by making barricades for the agricultural field. I even used to accompany him in search of 'Mithuns' in the jungle, where sometimes we collected canes too. After school I use to collect firewoods and wild veggies. These small activities helped me to learn some basic survival skills as well. Just like many other children of my age, I too was bullied in my school, sometimes for my looks and the other times for my outfits which actually belonged to my elder siblings as we couldn't afford much in those days. I had a craze for dramas and movies from a small age those d a y s w e d o n ' t h a v e Tv s o , m e and siblings use to go to my u n c l e ' s p l a c e t o w a t c h Tv and I finally got the opportunity to act in one when I was 16. It was a Christian gospel film named "Mwha Lama Jisug Ania sam", released in the year 2012. I was the choir incharge of Saint Mary Catholic Church, Sagalee at that time. Initially, I was hired as a choreographer but later the director decided to cast me in as well. I use to participate in cultural competitions of our festivals and school weeks etc.

I won the Title of Miss Sagalee 2014 W o n s u b t i t l e M i s s Ta l e n t ( Miss india Northeast 2018) Won subtitle Miss Fitness ( Miss NEFA 2018) I completed my graduation in B.sc Botany and went on to pursue Acting and Anchoring course at BKT Academy Delhi (2017)but later I dropped out due to financial crises And then I went to Jettwings Institute of Aviation & Hospitality Guwahati for Diploma in AHTM but I dropped that too And tried for Entrance at NERIST (Northeastern Regional institute of science and technology) And cleared entrance, went to pursue MBA from which I later dropped out as I felt my heart was in working as a full-time artist. Initially, when I announced my decision, no one in my family except for my mother, supported me. But it was my love for the art and the unconditional support from my mother that I stepped in the film industry. I recently played the character of Miss Winny in the series 'The Forgotten Army: Azadi ke liye' directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Amazon. It was a great experience for me to work with such a talented and experienced director, and to share a frame with the legendary actor Amala Akanani.

I had a craze for Ramp walk and pageants but due my short height (5'2") like every time I couldn't meet up height criteria and got disqualified but I kept trying heee hee...

I still remember the day when I gave my first salary to my Mom and she cried happy tears. In my school days, I used to collect wild vegetables to sell and did other labour work sometimes for pocket money and school fees and she always told me that, "I want my daughters to be financially independent when they grow up." Making her wish come true has been and will always be my goal and my biggest achievement, because it was her who never questioned my passion. No matter what society said, she has always been there for me during tough times. On 2020 I cleared JET (joint entrance test) Ftii pune and currently pursuing Tw o y e a r P G D i p l o m a C o u r s e i n S c r e e n Acting. I h a v e w o r k e d a s a Ta l e n t M a n a g e r i n Miss Arunachal organization. I have also had the honour of becoming the youngest executive member of the Film Federation of Arunachal (FFA). Recently, I and a group of talented people teamed up to launch our c o m p a n y c a l l e d Tr i b a l S o u l s . I t i s a n artist and event management company cum production house where I work as the CEO. I had the idea for this company since my school days, but back then I didn't have the required resources. I believe that the entertainment industry of Arunachal Pradesh is in its infant stage. The lack of professionals in this field and problem of outsourcing the movies makes it difficult for progress to take place. I can feel the pain of an artist having no proper guidance, and that is why we hope to help the budding artists of Arunachal Pradesh through our little ways.

When I followed my passion, I didn't know if I could find a destination. But seeing the happiness in the eyes of my mother, watching her princess living a life she desires, makes it all worth it. I still have a long way to go from here and a lot of things to experience. I don't want to be a superstar, but an artist with a refined craft."

How I Become a Photographer by Zia Qureshi

Not a very old tale as I did my first model photo shoot in Nov 2019 and was full of Nervousness, Confusion and Shyness. However, my one and half year journey in portrait photography has helped me allot to develop confidence, work on my mistakes, translate my ideas to the models and to learn multiple dimensions about one minor chapter of photography “portrait”. Why I start, definitely had interest in photography but didn’t know about my direction. Like most of the photographers, initiate with landscape clicks and get to know about my camera from online lectures. Keep this practice for around year and during that flow, I have figured out that portraits are definitely my end goal. First step was tough, ways to search model, convince model to be my subject, collection of right equipment with limited budget and effective edit skills were main challenges. However, gradually my learning curve rose with practice and feedback from my followers and senior photographers. Today, I am happy with my progress in portrait photography and keep working to improve my final outcome, as still a long journey is ahead of me. However, thanks to my followers, models and multiple gurus on YouTube that have supported me and still assisting to create edge in my work. Love you all. 47 Always fascinated by the media and glamour world from the very beginning of my s c h o o l d a y s , I a s p i r e d t o b e c o m e a n a c t o r. I s t a r t e d d a n c i n g a n d d o i n g g i g s a t s c h o o l level and participated in lots of competitions. I also had a predilection for music, learned to play guitar and took singing lessons as well. S o o n a f t e r, I l a n d e d u p o n a m o d e l i n g p r o j e c t w h i c h l e d m e e x p l o r i n g t h i s f o r q u i t e a while, learning the finesse of being a model. Then of course came the social media boom, and the significance of content creation and developing strategies for the same. The inception of meanwhile in life was a result of all that insights. I always believed in not giving up and doing what I loved the most, and I still believe in the same.

So what is exactly "Meanwhile in Life"?

creators?

Meanwhile in life which represents a sense of break from the present scenario and make us contemplate about life in broader outlook that we tend to miss in our day-to-day lives.

The rawness that I try to achieve by sharing only the kind of content I would love to see, and social media was always about having fun with yourself and experimenting which is the whole idea.

How did you choose this name? What was the thought behind it?

I talk about mental health in a very open way which I feel has given me more chance to be close to those people who genuinely love my content.

It wasn't easy to pick this name, but the moment I came up with it I knew it that this is the name which goes best with my personality where in I like to juggle between my work. While having a job I always took out time for things which I loved doing inspite of t h e t h o u g h t t h a t I m i g h t f a i l a t i t s o m e d a y, which did not happen and I grew in both paths, the thought was to enjoy and share what I did meanwhile my life with everything else going the way it was. What sort of content can we find on "Meanwhile in Life"? Meanwhile in life, is focused on sharing a very raw and natural self of my image, though over the period of time due to the brand work and commercial content it has become a bit mixed with my original content, but the idea was to make sure that audience understands the work.

What's makes my content different is the acceptance of myself the way I am on social media and off social media. We n o t i c e d t h a t y o u h a v e t r a v e l l e d a l o t abroad, how do you feel that adds to the content for "Meanwhile in Life"? Ye s , I h a v e t r a v e l l e d 1 6 C i t i e s i n I n d i a a n d 6 Abroad major places like Paris, Spain a n d D u b a i . Trave l i s o n e o f my m a j o r content source as I personally love traveling and it keeps me going. It adds a lot of value to content , as well as I get a chance to experience something n e w. Yo u c a n f o l l o w m e a n d m y a d v e n t u r e s o n instagram @meanwhile.in.life

M a j o r l y, i t ' s f o c u s e d o n T r a v e l , L i f e s t y l e and Fitness.. so many times I share my p e r s o n a l s t o r i e s o f p l a y i n g g u i t a r, I d a n c e as well, I love going out with my friends and having my favourite food. So the content you will find on meanwhile in life is simply a life of a girl who is trying hard to keep up and not give up on herself.

He has taken up several international, regional and local assignments in the past some of which includes; Official photographer for Mr. India International 2012 and as the Official photographer for the First ever Miss Eastern Nagaland held in the year 2018.

Ranging from casual to elaborate, cosplaying or the practice of dressing up as your favourite character has become popular among the young generation due to the massive popularity of comic book movies and anime. He started Cosplay photo shoots in 2020 which has become popular and sought after. One of his goals for Cosplay photography he says , “is to create photos that look like they could be a shot straight out of the movie, tv show or anime”. The Cosplay models are selected through auditions for which entry is free and selections are made based on the Cosplay characters for the shoot. The cosplay photography effect needs costumes, props etc. and many of the costumes and prop used are made by himself and in collaboration with designer Moatula a.k.a Cherrydoll. Professional make up artists are used for make ups. He creates original backgrounds for the shoots except for few which are done with a green screen to add effects later. He also says, “It is important for the models who play the cosplay characters to portray the true emotions of the characters and correct poses for the scene we are trying to create.”

Cosplay post-production is a key aspect of the photography work and therefore after completing the cosplay photo shoots all the Cosplay photos are edited in the studio by himself, drawing inspiration from the characters in the movie or the anime. The cosplay shoots are primarily being held in Dimapur, Nagaland but have recently been held in Mokokchung, Nagaland also. I started my modelling journey by sheer fluke about 6 years ago. I was talked into having some professional photos taken by Roberta Thomson (Photographybyroberta) to build her new portfolio. I was so happy with them that I decided to put them initially onto twitter. I was approached from there by a photographer asking for my portfolio, I nearly fell off my chair laughing as I thought he was just being silly. I then was asked to do some images and send them over to him. I asked Roberta to come take some more photos for me and she suggested I joined an online portfolio website, then to my astonishment I was being asked by a lot of photographers there to shoot with them….the rest they say, is history!

great shots in the bunch too.

I love modelling and have done a large variety of types of shoots, even going to France to shoot location images and the locations were amazing! I am probably best known for my lingerie images, these seem to be the shoots I do the most, which is a bonus as I have a terrible lingerie addiction, with a rail stuffed full and spilling over. I love to do creative shoots as I get to wear dresses I have made and also do some slightly different hair and makeup than I normally would do.

My purple hair, I get asked a lot about it. I decided to go from brunette to purple for a few reasons, firstly I love the colour purple, prior to modelling I had careers where it would be heavily frowned upon and not really appropriate either, the other reason is purple is the colour for chronic illnesses awareness. I have some health issues and two of my conditions are classed as chronic illnesses, I wanted to increase awareness of the conditions and that we can’t always see someones illness or disability.

When I first stared modelling, I found taking selfies in the mirror helped me to understand the best positions for my body shape, it also helped when It came to shooting as I had more confidence in myself and how I would look too. I try not to look at the back of the camera during a shoot, this can sometimes be detrimental to the whole shoot if I see image I don’t like. There are always going to be images that really are not flattering in sets, we all get them and learn to dismiss them because there will be some

I love modelling, it has transformed my life after having to give my career up. I have met and worked with so many lovely amazing people. I feel very lucky and blessed to have been given this opportunity in my life when it was pretty empty before hand. I have to say a massive thank you for all the brilliant and talented people I have met on my Modelling journey! They have given me fun, laughter, friendship and a very rewarding purpose to my life. I shoot a lot at my home, this makes me feel more comfortable when shooting with a new photographer. If the shoot isn’t going well, as in the photographer being creepy, pushing levels above what I have stated for that particular shoot, or anything else that makes me feel uncomfortable, I can ask them to leave easier than in a setting that you may feel stuck in. Always trust your gut, if something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. I have to say, I’ve never asked a photographer to leave, the vast majority at photographers are very professional when it comes to models and respecting us and our boundaries.

Mahjabeen Hussain

Indian Female Model of the Month

Hi, I am Majbeen Hussain from Guwhati, he capital city of Assam. I work as a professional model here since 2017. Though I started in 2017, but when I was doing my degree in college and while doing my LLB, I won many beauty contest awards and won Miss ..... titles. Though frankly I had never ever thought of taking modeling professionally. Since I belong to a conservative muslim familly and they were very much against modeling. Though now they totally understand and support and back me a lot but initially they were all negative about it and moreover I was also not even aware of ABC of modeling, on how to start and how to go about it, knew nothing at all.

But still in Guwhati I participated in a runway event and I won a title there. Then again at the time of Bihu which is a faous festival here, I participated ina contest here, which was actually against my families wishes (the first one I did, I had taken perission, but not this one). In the first one my paretnts permitted saying that if you wanna try try it but it will be the first and last one, however when I did, I really liked it and that encouraged me to try to more. So my family did not like me doing back to back contests and I was going against my family. Only my sisters were supporting me, specially my second eder sister whiose name is Nazneen Hussain. She supported me a lot and paid for the fee for registration in the contest, she used to take tutions and thus had some money of her own. So during the time of Bihu, I won Miss Rongali title in the contest. Then once I joined one workshop in Rajgarhg where international model from Assam Jayntee Hazarka was giving us training for 5 days. Its a small duration of 5 days but she taught us ramp walk, print modeling poses, etc and I learned a a lot and she was very nice with me. There she organized a still shoot for me and seeing me pose she said that if I want to work in modeling, I should work as a print model. So then when I came home, I searched google and youtube to learn more about print modeling and started to pose at home in front of the mirror and practice a lot of other things. The somehow I started working as a print model, I sarted doing shoots, I started making my portfolio first. Then gradually I started working with good photographers from assam. Then I even worked in Delhi last year for a company located in Faridabad. I worked in assam for many calenders and for many good magazines, Nandini, etc. I worked for designers, I worked for jwellery brands, I worked

for makeup artists, so I worked a lot. And I am still working and still learning. Now working for so long as a print model and my parents used to see my good pictures in various top magazines and calenders, they feel happy and proud. My father worked a deputy commisioner and my mother worked as a officer in MES, so though had modern outlook towards work and always encouraged us to do everything but since they are from govt job, so had no idea of modeling , now they understand me a lot and support me a lot and specially I mention again the name fof my sister Nazneen, she helped me a lot . We are 4 sisters and everyone is working in their own profession. Thats it, so my journey though would feel as if there is notjhing much, but those who have really fough against the odds and against family wishes they only understand how tough it is and how you have face stressful times. And more importantly when you start as afresher with noone to tell you or guide you, but still one has the guts to try and do things in the rigtht way. I n the end I would like to say one line that ‘life has knocked me down a few times and shown me things, I never wanted to see, I experienced sadness and failures, but one thing is for sure that I always get up. And with whatever Ilittle experiece I have, I would like to give a small piece of advice to the young girls and boys who aspire to be a model, that you should never give up., Just do whatever you wantt to do in a good way, give auditions, or whatever. Remember always that you can never defeat a spiirit that refuses to accept defeat, let your attempt be called a failure but you dont accept defeat, get up and keep going. Thanks to all. Acting Guru Sanju Nagarwal

While in college, I was not really interested in acting, I just wanted to get into politics. I joied the younth wing of ABVP and even became the VP of my colege DAV Faridabad. I always wanted to be in the limelight and wanted people to talk about me. Then one of my friend suggested to try in acting, join theatre and ocnce you become an actor you will autoatically become famous. Though I had in the back of my mind to become an actor but was never sure on how to go about it and what are the basic steps. So then I tried to join various thetre groups in Delhi, but due to higher fee, I would not join any. Then later on I met Hanu Yadav who was the director of NSD in Mandi House and started to work under him, from there on I worked witth many reputed theatre groups of Delhi and started learning acting. So thats how my acting journey started. So I started around 2014 as a theatre artist, then for around 2-3 years, I did any plays, nukkad nataks, slowly I worked with many directors and started grooming my skills. Then I did a movie also, unfortunately that never released, but I did not loose hope and I realy learnt a lot on how to face the camera. I was continously givining auditions and work started to flow. Then I did a few episodes for Savdhan India, I acted a a lead in Pyar Ishq Gunah, then I got chance to act in a Govt advt film and along with it I did 5-6 advt films as well. Then i did not video songs and for DD Kisan I did supporting role for a serial ‘ghon hunter babu’ from episode 25-60. I have now moved to writing, direction and production, right now we are working on some video songs fot T-series and a web-series for MX player, which will be released by the end of the year. I have also established acting school to help youngsters who are looking to enter acting industry and want to learn acting. You can check out the details on the coming pages.
