Over 50 events and activities taking place in SW1 throughout June 2016

IN ASSOCIATION WITH:

Welcome to SouthWestFest 2016 We’re really very excited about the programme we have planned this year and hope you’re looking forward to another vibrant Festival bursting with events, workshops and activities for everyone to enjoy. We were thrilled to be able to launch our new website earlier this year and we hope that it will help everyone stay connected and enjoy more of what we have on offer throughout the Festival. Take a look at www. southwestfest.org.uk The Festival starts this year with some brilliant community events hosted by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Pimlico Musical Foundation, Spice Time Credits and The Royal Court Theatre. This year will also see the return of our very popular SouthWestFest workshops programme kindly supported by Sanctuary Housing and St James Ward Councillors. Learn creative writing, scriptwriting, photography as well as new workshops in writing for business, public speaking, introduction to musical theatre and Kixa self defence. On Friday 17th June, we’ll be holding the Pimlico Proms followed by our much loved Festival Day, now in its 12th year! There will be community stalls from local organisations, interactive workshops, fairground rides, special guests from

Vauxhall City Farm, plus two stages showcasing fantastic live music and dance! Our writing competition returns this year and will feature guest judge Lucy Furlong. Also we are pleased to announce that our Heroes of SW1 Art Competition and Exhibition will be hosted at the Abbey Centre. We will be welcoming friends and family alike to our special Fathers’ Day River Cruise and our Royal Tea Dance will be hosted in celebration of the Queen’s 90th year. Also don’t miss our ComedyFest Night featuring some of London’s most amazing stand-up talent at our favourite local pub The Marquis of Westminster. Our festival finale on Sunday the 26th will be our free Poppins’ Picnic in Millbank Gardens, where mums and dads can sing supercalifragilisticexpialidocious with their little chimney sweeps. This event promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family.

We’re excited to announce that SouthWestFest has been working with The Royal Court
