Welcome to SouthWestFest
SouthWestFest is a long-established cultural community festival that brings creative, inspiring and fun events and activities to those living and working in south Westminster. With something for all ages, our Festival will take place across south Westminster between the 30th June and 21st July 2023.
This year our festival theme is ‘SouthWestFest at Twenty’. A festival of celebration, reflection and hope: celebrating the 20th year of the Festival; reflecting on how the area has changed in that time and exploring our community’s hopes for the future of the area, with a sustained focus on the environment and wellbeing.
SouthWestFest Opening Weekend - Pimlico Proms and Festival Day will return again this year on Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July 2023 in St. George’s Square. As the largest events in the local calendar, we can’t wait to have you back!
We’ve been working with local residents and organisations to collect stories, memories and the impact of the Festival over our last 20 years, as well as images, videos and objects! This has been collected and curated into the SouthWestFest at Twenty Exhibition, an exciting event from Thursday 6th - Sunday 9th July at Cave. The exhibition will also have ongoing activities to collect your hopes for the future!
Our Chloe’s Day of Play is back with even more activities on Saturday 15th July - a fantastic day of fun, workshops and activities for children and young people (and parents/ guardians who are big kids!), including: circus skills, planting workshops, craft and sports activities and more!
We’re super excited to announce we’re bringing back our Art Trail with the support of Open Age, after a year break! It’ll feature the work of local artists from around the borough across multiple venues and will run from Friday 14th - Friday 21st July. Get out and
about in your own time and follow the map to explore the local creativity.
Do you like walking and discovering more about the local area? We’ve got a series of 8 Walking Tours around the south of the borough exploring local heritage and the local environment tailored specifically for children & families, and adults & older adults.
The fun doesn’t stop there as our three week programme is chock-a-block with great events, workshops, classes and activities taking place every day and produced in partnership with local organisations and venues from across the local area.
If you want to register to take part in our events, workshops and activities, or just want to stay up to date with our most recent news and announcements, then head over to our website www.southwestfest.org.uk and sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about all our Festival updates.

Support SouthWestFest
We are incredibly lucky to be able to present such a wonderful programme of events created for and by the community each year. This would not be possible without the support from our dedicated volunteers, staff and yourself, reading this!
Help make our 20th year one to remember - any donation we receive greatly contributes to ensuring we can continue to be a crucial cultural organisation for the area. Your donation means that we can continue to provide joy, inspiration and connection to the community and local services by improving health and wellbeing, developing skills, reducing social isolation and providing accessible opportunities.
In the wake of the last few years, we are still very much recovering. Help be a part of SouthWestFest’s future.
Share Your Memories!
To celebrate our 20th birthday, we’re on the search for anything relating to the history of south Westminster and our Festival. If you’ve got photos, stories, artefacts, memories or even old tickets, we’d love to include them in our archive collection this year!
Email anything you may have over to: info@southwestfest.org.uk
We look forward to celebrating with you, and can’t wait to welcome you to this year’s SouthWestFest.
