Installation guide
Board Layout and fixings
Hicem should be stored and installed under dry conditions. Once fitted to the building structure it can be left exposed for up to 12months.
For render or brick slip applications, Hicem can be installed either horizontally or vertically to create a brick bond effect with staggered joints. Vertical supports of either timber or light gauge steel should be at maximum of 610mm centres.
All joints between boards should have a 2mm x 5mm expansion gap.
When fixing to SFS supports use either stainless steel or anti-corrosion coated nibbed countersunk screws 38mm long x 4.2mm diameter. Or helical twist nails.
Fixing Centres
27 fixings per board for vertical installation
When fixings to treated timber supports, ensure to protect timber with either DPM, EPDM or Cladtape. Use either a stainless or anticorrosion coated nibbed countersunk screws 42mm long x 4mm diameter. Or collated ringshank nails
25 fixings per board for horizontal installation
Screw spacing at the corners of boards should be 50mm from the top and bottom edges, and 12-15mm from the side edges.
