LEARNING GOALS

WHAT I HOPE TO GAIN FROM ATTENDING THE RECOVERY COLLEGE:

Think about what you'd like to get out of your time with the Recovery College. This could be knowledge, skills, a change in how you feel and/or an experience you want to have. Write your answer here:

MY LEARNING GOAL(S) IS:

This time next year what do you hope to have learned? How do you want to feel? What do you want to have achieved? Think about setting goals that are achievable and realistic for you. Write your learning goals in this space. Recovery Goals:

Educational Goals: Personal Development Goals:

COURSE PATHWAYS

Wehavedesignedourcoursepathwaytobeasflexibleaspossiblesothat you can create your own, personalised pathway through the college. In this way, you can create a pathway that will best help you meet your learninggoal.

Step1:

These 5 courses are our Foundation courses and a good starting place as they explore some of the core themes and tools linked to mental health Recovery.Thesewillbedeliveredonarollingweeklybasisthroughoutthe terms.Thesecoursesare:

•WhatisthisThingCalledRecovery?

•WhatisthisThingCalledHope?

•WhatisthisThingCalledAgency?

•WhatisthisThingCalledAcceptance?

•WhatisthisThingCalledtheWellnessRecoveryActionPlan(WRAP)?

We then advise that you attend courses in steps 2 and 3 to build your knowledge on recovery and wellbeing topics. You can attend courses withinSteps2and3asmuchasyoulike. ThenyoucanmoveontoourStep4courses.

PERSONAL COURSE PATHWAY

Nowyouhaveidentifiedyourlearninggoal, let'slookatwhichcourseswill help you achieve this. Start by choosing a couple of 'Step 1' courses. We would highly recommend starting with the 'What is this thing called Recovery'course.Usetheprospectustohelpyouchoose.

MY LEARNING STYLE

We all learn in different ways. Finding your individual learning style can help you understand how you learn best and what you might need to support you in your learning. Which learning style is your preference? (You may have more than one).

MY LEARNING STYLE IS:

Visual: I learn best when information is displayed through diagrams and pictures.

Auditory: I learn best through listening to information and group discussions.

Kinesthetic: I learn best through 'handson' learning, where I get to learn through doing.

Read and Write: I learn best through words and find note-taking very useful.

SETTING UP FOR SUCCESS

Setting yourself up for success may include identifying anything that may impact on your learning experience. Consider how you already support your wellbeing on a day to day basis. Do you have any additional learning needs you need to think about in the classroom?

HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY WELLBEING DURING A COURSE?

I like to have a bottle of water and a grounding object with me on a course.

Student C

IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO CONSIDER THAT MIGHT AFFECT MY LEARNING? WHAT CAN I DO TO SUPPORT MYSELF WITH THIS?

This may include learning difficulties or mental wellbeing difficulties.

SUPPORT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE SHOULD YOU NEED A GREATER AMOUNT OF SUPPORT IN THIS AREA. PLEASE ASK THE COLLEGE FOR MORE DETAIL.

REFLECTIVE LEARNING LOGS

Taking time to reflect on the things that you have learned will help you to see how you can implement them on your recovery journey.

You can use the following pages as a space to make notes and record your key takeaways from your chosen courses.

MY LEARNING PLAN REVIEW

Welcome to your Learning Plan Review!

Once you've done a term or two at The Recovery College and are well underway with the courses, it can be helpful to take a moment to reflect on your progress and review your learning goals.

The next few pages will help you identify how far you've come, whether there are any barriers to reaching your goal and whether your original learning goal is still relevant for you. Don't forget to take time to celebrate your successes, however big or small!
