Financial aid is meant to open doors. We make sure it does.

At Soka University of America, financial support is built into our promise to every student. No matter your background or citizenship status, we’ll work with you to make your education possible.
A clear path to college for students from all income levels.
If you’re an admitted undergraduate student with a family income of less than $90,000 per year, the Soka Opportunity Plan covers your tuition with a combination of grants and scholarships from the university, federal and state governments, and private agencies.
If you have additional demonstrated financial need, you may qualify for even more gift aid to help reduce other education-related costs, like living expenses, books, and transportation.
If your family income is over $90,000 per year, you may qualify for prorated need-based grants. If your family earns up to $250,000, you will receive a minimum of half of your tuition covered, with potential for more aid based on need. If your family earns between $250,001 and $300,000, you are eligible to have one-quarter of your tuition covered.
We also offer multiple scholarship opportunities that are not based on family income.

100% of admitted students are offered a merit scholarship.
78% of students receive grants and scholarships that fully cover their tuition.*
