The Six Question Interview “Ed... Is he really that bad?” By Gary the 74th

In a couple of sentences, tell us about the real life Ed. “I am a student in RL. A senior in High School and planning on going to college next year. I am one of the smartest students in my grade and I plan on being a history or chemistry teacher.” How long have you played Cybernations and have you been in many alliances? “I have played Cybernations close to 500 days now and have been in 3 alliances, TLR, LoH and DRAGON.” So, in TLR, the council members all have their personas... Which one are you? “I tend the be the more serious one, and keep the others grounded in reality the best I can. When not talking about the alliance I am usually the one going around making jokes. The SH and Sojo gay thread was actually based off a post of mine.” What is your favourite word? “Strange - it is slang for vagina and part of my national motto 'I don't pay for strange'.”

El Presidente has some stuff to say By sojourner

Over the past months many exciting things have been happening for The Last Republic. Things change, people come and go, we make friends and lose some, but after all is done we still emerge strong and secure as The Last Republic. Our values: Respect, Discipline, Unity and Integrity will form the basis of our mission. October 14, 2011 TLR celebrated its First Anniversary. This is a great milestone in the life of an alliance. Although many alliances never make it to this landmark, TLR continues to grow and be successful. Our second year starts with a very strong membership of loyal nations. Council has seen some changes recently and we have a new member. With the retirement of General Rustikus, Bernhard Klein was nominated and voted to replace him. Our new General is an outstanding member of TLR who will guide our military and provide the leadership needed to maintain our strength and security. Bratalavia, another hard working member, was selected by StockHunter to be his Deputy of Internal Affairs. He will be helping on the new initiatives recently started in trades and tech dealing.

And finally... Which member of TLR smells the most? There is only one true answer to this and that is Warvick.

The Last Republic has also instituted a new body of leaders and installed the very first members. The Order of the Eagle is an esteemed body is comprised of founders and ex-council members who are knowledgeable and committed individuals with an interest in offering advice and expertise to council on important matters of the alliance. We are fortunate to have General Rustikus and ACiDNiNE support Council in this role.

Have a suggestion? Want to get involved? Message Gary the 74th.

I would like to extend an invitation to all members to step up and join us in working to make this alliance successful. On the forum is an employment thread which lists open positions. Come and try your hand at something and help keep TLR strong and successful.

What is your most hated food? “Tuna.”

The Legion's War By Bernhard Klein After slightly over a month of fighting, The Legion emerged from the the battlefield victorious over the combined forces of Tetris, the New Sith Order, the Imperial Assault Alliance, the Blue Turtle Alliance, and the New Sakura Order. While this match-up may seem highly tipped to the favor of the Tetris side, consider that the starting strengths were rather closely matched. The Legion commenced operations at just over 6.2 million NS and financial support from NpO, while the combined forces of Tetris had around 6.9 million NS to work with, never mind the financial resources of The Last Remnants, GATO, Ragnarok, and Asgaard. The Legion managed, through effective coordination and extensive community support, to put down resistance in IAA, BTA, and NsO fairly quickly: all three submitted to White Peace on the 28th of October after losing a combined total of 1.9 million NS. Whereas it was fairly clear that The Legion was on a similar path to victory in the cases of NSO and Tetris, the former refused to agree to any proposed surrender terms and vowed to continue fighting, a vow that was not well-received by the OWF. In response to NSO stubbornness, the Mushroom Kingdom and Viridian Entente issued a warning of potential intervention on both sides if an agreement was not reached in short order. In any case, The Legion accepted defeat from Tetris (who had lost 293,000 NS) and gave White Peace to NSO (who had lost over 1 million NS) on the 6th of November. Total losses for Tetris & Co. were 3.33 million NS; total losses for the Legion were 3.9 million NS. Since the conclusion of battle, IAA has disbanded and the others will need much time for their wounds to heal - particularly the Sith Order who lost a substantial number of members (nearly 20). The Legion's scars show, but reconstruction efforts have long since begun and the alliance has grown 11.95% in the past few weeks - no small undertaking. I have complete confidence that The Legion will return to its prewar strength within a few months, barring any major global wars within that duration. Besides, no amount of NS loss could take away from their regaining of respect around the world for their first victory in a while. Ave Legio!

A terrible joke for us all A man sits down in a diner and asks for the hot chilli. The waitress says, "The guy next to you got the last bowl." So, he gets a cup of coffee. Then he sees that the guy next to him has finished his meal, but the chilli bowl is still full. He says, "Are you going to eat that?" The other guy says, "No. You can have it." The guy takes it and starts to eat it. When he gets about half way down, he sees a dead mouse in it, and he pukes the chilli back into the bowl. The other guy says, "That's about as far as I got, too."

A brief recruitment update By Edward Reed

This month, we managed to recruit 10 members. *Ed throws around some money and runs away*. [Editor's note: yes that really was all Ed wanted to say.]

So what's the latest war threat all about? By Gary the 74th

As you will be aware, there's another war threat lurking. This time, the New Polar Order (NpO) was attacked by The Order Of The Paradox and the Independent Republic of Orange Nations. Their reason was the fact they've been harbouring a hatred for the NpO for around two years, stemming from the now infamous BiPolar War. As a result, this war does appear to be going global by what's known as the 'chaining effect' whereby various pacts and treaties are activated when various alliances attack, or are attacked. The Last Republic is one such alliance, as we have a good set of treaties with some loyal allies. The Council are working on finding a way through the maze. Please keep checking the forum and your nation for announcements and notifications.

Promotions and Awards Bernhard Klein has now been a valued member of TLR for one year. He was also elected General. Sojourner has now recruited us 25 members. Brataslavia is now Deputy of Internal Affairs and Reaper2137 is a Diplomat. CONGRATULATIONS ALL!

Internal Affairs Update By StockHunter

The tech program has farmed 2,650 tech with a remaining 150 tech still yet to be sent as of 11/22/2011 7:05:07 PM CN time. This is since its beginning back in mid-October, so that means we're averaging roughly 1,300 tech a month with this program! We still need more sellers though, this program with our current membership has the potential to farm over 2,000 tech a month! That's 10,000 strength for the alliance! We also have our 1st happy farmer about to complete the day after tomorrow. Congratulations to Lord Markus for earning $30,000,000 by farming 1,000 tech! Remember you can earn this too. For more information on tech farming, visit the forum via this link.

Foreign Affairs News By sojourner

The Foreign Affairs Department is always busy interacting with others around CN. Diplomats spend time visiting alliances and spreading the TLR friendliness (the soj is watching). We have been fortunate to find excellent treaty partners. The Legion, our brothers, have been with us since we started and we have gone from protectorate to signing an MDoAP with them (July 2011). WAPA, those whiskey lovin’ Scots, signed a MDoAP with us also in July 2011. More recently, Nov 21, we signed an ODoAP with the wild and crazy group Invicta. A few days later we signed an ODoAP with Menotah, a very creative bunch to say the least. We are fortunate to we have this great group of friends. Our list of treaties is located here.
