Foundation Day Cordis Spiritus Junior School Award
The Cordis Spiritus Award recognises a student from the Junior School and a student from the Middle or Senior School who reflects the ‘spirit of Snowy Mountains Grammar School’ and all that our school stands for. The award recognises a student who is outstanding in their contribution to the School and whose efforts, through ‘heart and spirit’, have made a significant impact on our community and the daily life of the School. Respect to self, family, school and others is an underpinning consideration in the determination of this award.
Sports Person All-Rounder of the Year
Junior School
The Junior School Sports Person of the Year Award is presented to a student from Year 5 or 6 who has demonstrated exceptionally high levels of participation and athletic achievement in a range of sporting activities in House, HICES and representative sports. The recipient must also clearly demonstrate a level of sportsmanship and commitment to all SMGS sporting activities.
The Sue West House Shield Award – House Champion
The overall recipient of the House Shield will be determined by results achieved from each of the Houses throughout the year. The House that accumulates the most points from activities within areas of school life will be named as the Champion House.
An important aspect of the House Shield is that Academic, Cultural and Sporting pursuits form part of the holistic educational process of the School and are therefore all counted towards the awarding of the House Shield.
The ‘year’ for the House Shield begins at the start of Term 4 and concludes at the end of Term 3. This is to enable the Year 12 students to complete a full year as part of the House and as House Captains.
