Dear Annual Sponsors and Members,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Caroline Noya and I am the new Chairman of the Board. As we close out another year, I want to take a moment to update you on some recent developments within the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as the steps we are taking to strengthen our commitment to our mission and to all of you.
As you may know, we have recently undergone some personnel changes. Erika O’Neal and the Chamber have parted ways and we wish her well. Willy Culberson has stepped down from his position as Chairman of the Board just a few weeks before his term ended and we thank him for his service to the Chamber. Linda Bauer is our current Treasurer; her term ends at the end of December and we thank her for her invaluable years of service as well. Craig Strickland will be stepping up as our new Treasurer to replace Linda. We welcome new Board member, Alexis Peck, to our Chamber Board. Alexis currently works for the City of Smithville and is interested in helping the Chamber with our endeavors to promote economic growth and development in the city and surrounding areas. Please help us welcome her! While this period has been challenging for all of us, we are confident that these changes will provide the foundation for a brighter and more effective future.
Our priority is to continue to maintain transparency, strengthen our organizational culture, and ensure that all decisions and actions are in direct support of our goals. We absolutely value your support of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce. Your contributions, both financial and through your active engagement, are essential to our mission’s success. Together, we will continue to prioritize communication, collaboration, and a renewed focus on our vision.
We are optimistic about what lies ahead. Our Board is energized, and we are consistently seeing positive changes in the way we work together. We will be reviewing our calendar of events at our Board retreat in January and could potentially add to or change some events.
We are also looking at our extensive list of member benefits always with an eye toward improving your return on investment in our organization. Thank you for your steadfast support of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Sincerely,
Caroline Noya Chairman of the Board
