October 21, 2025 ~ Chamber eBlast
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
What a fantastic October it’s been so far in Smithville! We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Frontier Bank for hosting an outstanding October Chamber Mixer. The energy, connections, and support from our community made it one to remember.
The 7th Annual Smithville Wingfest this past Saturday was a sizzling success! A huge thank you to all the wing-cooking teams, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made it such a fun, flavorful, and family-friendly day. The community spirit was strong, and we loved seeing so many smiling faces enjoying one of Smithville’s favorite traditions!
But that’s not all! We’ve got more great events ahead:
• Join us this Wednesday, October 22nd for our October Chamber Luncheon, where we’ll explore the exciting growth of the film industry in Bastrop County and its impact on local economic development .
• And don’t miss the spooky fun at our Spooky Sip & Story this Friday, October 24th get your tickets now for a night of local legends and spirited storytelling! Our town is bursting with activities, so be sure to visit the Events tab on our website at www.SmithvilleTx.org to stay up to date on everything happening in and around Smithville.
We’d also like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate a very special honor in our community. Six Vietnam veterans from the Dr. George M. Jones VFW Post 1309 in Smithville will be taking part in the Honor Flight on October 24–25, 2025. These esteemed veterans are:
Art Ambrose (United States Air Force), Richard Murray (United States Navy), Bennie Rooks, Dennis Inman, James Windom, and Steven Peeper (all United States Army).
This is a remarkable opportunity for these heroes, and we couldn’t be more proud of their service and the way they represent our small town with such honor and dignity. Please join us in thanking them for their sacrifice and dedication to our country.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for two beloved annual traditions:
• The 34th Annual Festival of Lights is coming up on Saturday, December 6th
• And the always-sweet Adopt-A-Gingerbread Man returns November 14th & 15th. Stay tuned for all the details on our website and on Facebook and Instagram. As always, we appreciate our community, our members, and your continued support Thank you for being an essential part of what makes Smithville so special.
Warm regards,
Caroline Noya Chairman of the Board
