Popplewell Doris Bernice (Chaplin) Popplewell
Doris passed away in the Perth hospital on Sunday, February 23rd, 2014 at the age of 75 years. She has fought a good fight and now has finished her race and gone on to be with her Lord. Predeceased by her parents Ronald and Marjorie Chaplin and her granddaughter Kari-Lyn Popplewell. She now leaves her children David, Dawn (Mike) Asselstine, Mark (Lori) and Matthew (Lisa). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Nathanial and Melissa Asselstine, Nolan and Christopher Popplewell, Sam and Luke Popplewell. Her sisters Marion Koeslag, Sheila (late John) Acheson and Rona (Brian) Wright will feel an empty space. Her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews will miss her caring and fun spirit and the times spent with her especially at the family reunions she planned at the cottage. Doris had many friends in the community and they will find a hole in their lives until they meet again. We thank them all for their caring and love for her throughout her life and in her last few days. Family and friends will gather at Asbury Free Methodist Church, 144 Gore St. E. Perth on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home.

Miller John Herbert Miller
April 19th , 1950 - May 2nd, 2014 John Miller, coowner of Tayside Farms near Perth Ontario, passed away suddenly at his Kincardine cottage on Friday May 2nd, 2014. He was a leader in the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, Lennox and Addington Insurance and many agricultural organizations. John was partner and best friend to Karen (Middleton) Miller, beloved father to Christopher (Cherith Hyndman) and Melissa (Gonzalo Gutierrez). Cherished grandpa to Lucia and Cecilia. He will be sadly missed by family Diane Duncan (Don), Nancy Miller Chenier (John), Ruth Miller-Baker, Bobbie Law (Gordon), Jim Middleton (Crystal Cannon), Bruce Middleton (Debbie), Elizabeth Porath and Christine Zacodnik (Allan). He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends with fond memories. John was predeceased by his parents J.R. Ernest and Evelyn Miller. Leon “Joe”Joseph King WWII Veteran (Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95) Passed away peacefully at Smiths Falls Hospital on Saturday, May 3, 2014, Leon Joseph King at the age of 89. Leon is predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Leone (nee Aunger), his parents Wallace and Josephine (nee McGowan), his daughter Elizabeth Harrison and his son Michael King. Cherished father of Mark King and Cheryl-Ann (Paul) Sackfield. Proud grandfather of Brandon (Grace) King, Paul (Carolyn) Harrison, Dean King, Lisa Passarelli, Jamie Harrison, Derek and Robin Kisler, Jeffrey (Tara) and Matthew King, and great-grandfather of Makayla and Mackenzie Harrison, Adam Passarelli, Monica, Diandra and Patrick Dunn and Seth and Robyn Kisler. Leon will be fondly remembered by his brother Francis King, his son-inlaw Andy Harrison, his close friend Lucy Greenop, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Peacefully at the Perth Community Care Centre, Perth, on Friday, May 2nd, 2014, one day short of her 71st birthday. Bonnie was the cherished wife of Jerry Patenaude, loved mother of Michael (Helen) and Gerry (Leanne) Patenaude and Diane (Ron) Coutts. She was the cherished and respected grandmother of Crystal (Chad) Buchanan, Amanda (Chad) Ennis, Nicholas Coutts, Beau (Krista) and Tina Patenaude and great grandmother of Karson and Keagan Buchanan, Alexys and Aliyah Patenaude , Jensen and Arabella MacEwen and MaKenna and Myla Ennis. Bonnie will be sadly missed by sisters Jo-Anne Maude and Paulette Dochstader, brother John Fournell, sisters-in-law Cecile Sequin, Jean Foley, Edna Turner, Pauline Birch, brothersin-law Richard, Edmond and Jean Paul Patenaude. POWER Dorothy Sheffield Peacefully, compassionately tended by care givers at Sherwood Park Manor, and in the presence of loving family members, Dorothy Sheffield (Morris) Power aged 98. Born May 20, 1915 to Alice Effie (Frye and Samuel Johnson Morris at Glen Morris (Athens). Dorothy was the last surviving sibling of seven. Predeceased by her beloved husband William George and by her loving daughter, Jane Morris Power, she is survived by her daughters, Sally M. Munnings (Ronald), H. Patricia Marshall (the late C. Douglas) and Judith F. Bowman (Keith). Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. At her request, no visitation or funeral service will be held. Cremation will be followed by a Family Committal Service in St. James Cemetery, Maitland, with Father Michael Read officiating. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at the Brockville Rowing Club, on Monday May 19, 2014 from 2-4 pm.
