Fibers...

by Margaret DeStefano

Good health grows on trees, hangs on apple trees, hides in crinkly spinach leaves, and carrots growing beneath the soil. Researchers are finding that fiber has remarkable power to preserve your health and prevent disease. Here are some great suggestions to help you add more fiber into your meals...

1) Think brown when you think of bread. Whole wheat or other whole grain bread should be the choice. 2) Eat potatoes and other vegetables with their skin. 3) Choose vegetables that have edible stems or stalks such as broccoli. 4) Eat fruits that have edible seeds such as raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. 5) Try brown rice, corn tortillas, bulgur wheat or whole wheat pasta.
