HOW IS LEIDOS RESPONDING TO THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS?

WELLBEING AT LEIDOS

The wellbeing of employees has never been more important. Our working lives have changed dramatically in recent weeks, with uncertainty and new challenges for many of us. Finding the right balance between work and personal responsibilities has been crucial, as we have worked our way through lockdown. Adjusting to working from home, balancing family commitments and taking care of our wellbeing has been key for Leidos.

Leidos called upon its trusted benefit partners to support us sharing resources, podcasts, webinars & initiatives highlighting how to adapt and tips to help during this time. Staying connected has been essential. The CEO shares weekly videos, managers are encouraged to check in with their teams and virtual social events have all been part of our lockdown strategy. Leidos recognised how lockdown has affected our mental health and as a result, this is going to form a key aspect of our return to work strategy.

Among the initiatives Leidos has created to support employee wellbeing while working remotely from home are:

Wellbeing Wednesday communications, a weekly blog offering a range of hints, tips, podcasts & resources for employees and their families. The topics change weekly aiming to cover as many topics as possible. As we ease out of lockdown this will evolve to become a regular feature we share each month. stories, taking that much needed time out.

The Mindfulness Monday initiative was set up to help employees restore a natural balance in the body and mind. The 15-minute virtual sessions encourage of calm.

Leidos marked Mental Health Awareness Week in May by focusing on kindness. Employees were encouraged to carry out their own acts of kindness, be kind to themselves and reflect on their own mental health. Ideas and pictures were shared on our intranet. With kindness in mind, employees were encouraged to invite a colleague for a virtual coffee break catch-up. A great opportunity to share and listen to everyday relaxation to help start the week in a state

Organisational Wellness Champions are volunteers who will play a key role in supporting a culture that contributes to improved mental health and wellness. They will help to drive forward change internally and help embed improved wellness amongst fellow employees.

As we plan our return to normal, whatever normal may look like, Leidos has committed to ensuring wellbeing initiatives remain at the forefront of its employee experience. Post lockdown Leidos will continue to embed our wellbeing strategy to provide an open, supportive and inclusive workplace.
