FILAMENT PD AWARDED UK FUNDING BOOST

Flying in the face of adversity our product development agency Filament PD, is pushing ahead with several new healthcare products borne out of the current crisis. In addition, team Filament has announced it has been awarded funding by Innovate UK that supports cuttingedge businesses, enabling the first stages of the development of a medical staff protection device born right here in Skypark!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that a product owned and developed by us, has been awarded Innovate UK grant funding to accelerate field trials and the ultimate release of the product. Although we can't show you the designs yet (it's still top secret!), we can tell you it's a unique, easy-to-use and affordable protective barrier for medical staff while treating patients. This funding means we can progress to field trials later this year when we hope to announce more details.

Commenting on more news on contract wins Gregor Aikman, cofounder of Filament PD said:

“This current crisis has enabled some of our healthcare product customers to push ahead with their product developments. This has led to Filament being awarded two further contracts; one for anti-microbial door handles that use clean touch technology to meet the demand for improved hygiene standards and a second contract, to develop a mass market wearable device that monitors vital signs to highlight health deterioration.”

Gregor finished:

For our clients, this crisis means that we are continuing to demonstrate our ability to consistently provide a product design and development service under challenging circumstances. It’s a time to utilise design thinking and innovation to survive and thrive in the face of mass disruption.”
