Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Very moderate temperatures during the latter part of November have provided the perfect opportunity for some outdoor activities without a coat. This young lad and his grandfather took advantage of the nice weather to create a little sailboat out of a twig and a few ginkgo leaves. Perhaps this is their way of saying autumn is finally setting sail.
Toys For Tots Benefit Concert
The Cocalico Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3376 (The Ephrata VFW) is excited to once again partner with the United States Marine Corps Reserves
and their annual Toys for Tots program. In addition to being an official toy dropoff site, the VFW will host a benefit concert on Saturday, December 10 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Popular local band “Easily Amused” will play throughout the evening and food and drinks will be available for purchase. This is their third year
hosting a benefit concert for Toys for Tots. Admission is free to this benefit concert; however, they ask that all guests bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the program. Monetary donations will be accepted and are greatly appreciated. Uniformed Marines will be onsite to collect the toys. Last year they far exceeded their toy
collection goal and they hope to do so again this year. The benefit concert is open to the public (ages 21+). They hope to see a great turnout for the concert as they work together to ensure a Happy Christmas for the local needy children. For more information, call the Ephrata VFW at 7177339904.
