Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The East Cocalico Lions have been known for their delicious oysters for many years. These oysters have been served both at the Ephrata Fair and at their BiAnnual Dinners. Their next dinner will be held on Saturday, November 4 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Reamstown Fire Hall, Church Street, Brownstown. All oysters are breaded onsite and served fresh in platters (coleslaw, applesauce, French fries or baked potato and a home-baked dessert) or as a sandwich. Also featured at the dinner is shrimp, fish and ham. You can dine in or takeout is available. 100% of all net proceeds from this dinner and all other East Cocalico Lions Club fundraisers are donated back to the community. For more information, call 7173363170. The members of the East Cocalico Lions Club are looking forward to seeing everyone at this dinner and ask you to put the date of the spring dinner, which will be held on Saturday, March 3, on your calendar. Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Denver Elementary School third through fifth grade students benefited from a unique, high-energy, three-screen multimedia presentation sponsored by the Cocalico Community Partnership. The show was presented by Camfel Productions and the program titled “Eye to Eye” gave students a straightforward look into how we classify, label and categorize each other and shared ways to look beneath the surface, so we can see each other eye to eye. The program was held in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week activities that are coming up. Shown in the photo is one young girl giving a thumbsup as she agrees with the speaker on stage.
