FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31 Weaverland Mennonite Church, located along Route 897, 1/2 mile north of Route 23, East Earl, will hold a Community Fall Celebration, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 The Ephrata Middle School will host a Free Coats For Kids event for families in need, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Sponsored by churches in the Ephrata and Cocalico areas.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 A Spaghetti Dinner and Auction will be held at Akron United Zion Fellowship Hall, 29 South 10th Street, Akron, at 5:30 p.m. There is a cost. Auction begins at 7:00 p.m. Open to the public. All proceeds benefit the 4 Our Kids summer school scholarship programs.

Ephrata High School students had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities during a school-wide Wellness Day. Over 20 indoor and outdoor activities were led by local fitness professionals, community members and high school teachers. There was cooking classes, self-defense,
nature walk, football, kickball and many other activities. High school seniors spent a portion of the day packing meals for Global Aid Network (GAiN), an international organization that offers relief and development projects to help people in need around the world.

The Clay Elementary School PTO recently sponsored a BMX Bike stunt show assembly. The students were so excited and cheered loudly as they watched the pro bikers do really neat stunts on bikes.

This fun assembly also offered many positive messages on eating healthy, living a drugfree lifestyle, bicycle helmet safety and no bullying. October is “No Bullying
Month.” This was a great way to remind the students of this important message. Shown are adults from the audience who volunteered to be part of a BMX jump.
