Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The Bitzer Mill covered bridge just outside of Farmersville is currently undergoing major renovations and structural fixes after a truck drove through the bridge last year causing extensive damage. Crews were busy removing pieces of the bridge in an effort to bring the bridge back up to speed, and estimates are six to eight weeks at this point for project completion. The bridge was built in 1846 at a cost of $1,115 and has been known by various names, including Eberly’s Cider Mill, Martin’s Mill, Big Conestoga and Fiand’s/Fiantz’s.

Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The fourth graders at Lititz Christian School recently celebrated Native American Day. Students in Mrs. Hackman’s class prepared for the day by choosing a tribe to research and then gave a presentation in costume. Some of the students made replica bow and arrows, drums, rain sticks, travois, jewelry, Native American homes and other Native American crafts. The students made clay pots, dream catchers, played games and ended the celebration with a special snack.
