Apple Dumplings At The Ephrata Cloister

THE

Apple dumplings, a sweet Pennsylvania Dutch treat, will again be available at the historic Ephrata Cloister, 632 West Main Street, Ephrata, on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8 starting at 9:30 a.m. each day until they are all sold. These tasty pastries, made from a traditional recipe by Achenbach’s Bakery, help raise money to return rare objects to the museum. Proceeds from the event support the Back to the Cloister Fund, which has brought such rare treasures as furniture, books and artwork back to the place where it was made in the 1700s. Recently, the apple dumplings have helped to secure the second known copy of a book printed at the Cloister in 1745 and a scarce
