Who’s Hiring in Construction/ Mechanical

Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The Akron Volunteer Fire Company hosted an open house for the community to come out and see the station and the equipment, and ask any safety questions to the many members who were in attendance. Free hot dogs, drinks and treats were available. A kids bounce house was a huge hit as well as the opportunity to work a fire hose with the help of a volunteer firefighter. Shown is Lieutenant Thomas Murray III (wearing white) with volunteer Nathan Shirk who is helping control the fire hose while teaching his son Christopher basic fire fighting techniques. The children watching are, from left to right, Jalisa, Janson, Jaylon, Kyler and Brandel.

Lititz Lions Car Cruise Showcases Rich Automobile History

Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Hundreds of beautiful cars, trucks and motorcycles lined Main Street in Lititz for the annual Lititz Lions Car Cruise this past Wednesday. A large crowd turned out to see a wide variety of makes and models and to get up close and see some amazing rides from different eras. They also had the opportunity to ask the owners all about their vehicles. The weather cooperated and good food, music and times were had by all. Shown is a beautiful motorcycle with sidecar and a 1959 Cadillac series 62 parked among many cool rides. HOURS: Mon., Wed. & Thurs., 9am-8pm Tues. & Fri., 9am-6pm Sat. 9am-4pm Closed Sunday
