The Ephrata Masonic Lodge presented three scholarships to students furthering their education. The three recipients included: Aaron Schrom (who will be attending Widener University), Tyler Weinhold (attending the University of Tampa) and Rebecca Moyer (attending Penn State).

Civil War Day To Be Held At Reamstown Memorial Park

THURSDAY, JULY 28 Bethany United Church of Christ, 140 East Main Street, Ephrata, will hold a Free Community Meal. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Serving at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For info., call 717­733­4134.

SUNDAY, JULY 31 The Welsh Mountain Home, 567 Springville Road, New Holland, will host a gospel music concert with the Roland Zimmerman Family at 2:00 p.m. For more info., call 717­ 354­6804.

SUNDAY, JULY 31 St. John Center Lutheran Church, 599 Reading Road, Route 625, a few miles south of Bowmansville, will hold Music In The Grove with Bluegrass Gospel Concepts at 6:00 p.m. A freewill offering will be received.

Witness Civil War skirmishes and hear stories about the war that almost divided the country during Civil War Day on Saturday, July 30 at Reamstown

Memorial Park. The park, located behind Reamstown Community Center, 23 East Church Street in Reamstown, will open at 9:00 a.m. The opening ceremony will

be held at 9:30 a.m., with the event ending at 4:00 p.m. Shown in the photo are members of Company C, 53rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.
