Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Children packed the Ephrata Public Library to see the fascinating world of bugs in a program presented by non other than Ryan Bridge, affectionately known as The Bug Man. For over 30 years, Ryan has been involved with entomology on all levels, has traveled around the world in search of amazing bugs, and wants children to learn all they can about these amazing and colorful creatures. The highlight of the show was the opportunity for children to hold live tarantulas, scorpions, and other insects as shown in the photos. Having this up-close experience with these creatures gave children an appreciation of insects and hopefully a desire to learn more about the world around them.

9 Cedar Grove Vacation Bible School A summer kids event called “Thailand Trek VBS” will be hosted at Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church, 4833 Division Highway, East Earl, from Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23. Thailand Trek is like taking a trip to Thailand! Kids will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into yummy Thai-inspired treats, experience cool Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Makers, and explore what daily life is like for kids in Thailand. Each day concludes with a Closing Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Kids at Thailand Trek VBS (Vacation Bible School) will join an international mission effort to share God’s Word by providing kid-friendly Thai-language New Testaments for children in Thailand. Thailand Trek VBS is for kids from kindergarten to sixth grade and will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day. For more information, call 717-354-5573.
