Shown in the photo, from left to right, are Nolan Martin, Colden Martin, Natalie Crouse, Riley Crouse, Hannah Crouse and Reagan Martin as they are getting ready to celebrate Memorial Day weekend at Adamstown Community Days. The 17th Annual Adamstown Community Days (ACD) will take place over Memorial Day weekend, Friday, May 24, Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. All events will take place in the community
grove located just off Route 272, two miles north of the Reading interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. As always, there is no charge for parking and no admission to the grounds. And there will be free professional entertainment every evening under a large tent. Folding chairs are provided or you may bring your own chair and blanket. ACD chairman Joe Dietrich stated that fundraisers throughout the year, such as monthly Bingo and the
AppleUmpkin Fest in October, help fund the entertainment and fire works. Local businesses also contribute generously to pay many of the expenses. “Without their continued support, this event would not be possible,” Dietrich said. The weekend will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with carnival rides, games, an open cruise night and lots of delicious food. The Adamstown Lions Club will again be serving a

At 7:30 p.m. everyone is invited to enjoy a popular local group that has been part of ACD since the beginning: Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods. Saturday activities begin at 2:00 p.m. Wrist bands can
be purchased for unlimited carnival rides and will be available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Loaded baked potatoes and chicken barbecue will be served at the pavilion by Abundant Living Church beginning at 2:00 p.m. Everyone who enjoys karaoke is invited to join Josh Livingood at 4:00 p.m. at the stage area, either as a participant or part of the audience. Local Goats Captured Celebrating Spring In High Style
Now Available!
MONDAY, MAY 27
Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Spring is always a great time to see newborn goats frolicking in the pasture as they get their legs under them and begin to do what goats do. This shot captures the older ones as they make themselves at home on this old Ford truck. The senior member, or king of the hill as he likes to be called, started out on the hood but after he ate all the fresh tree buds he could reach, he went up a level and cleaned that area up.
