SATURDAY, MAY 14 Ephrata United Zion Church, 408 East Fulton Street, Ephrata, will host an “Old Time Gospel Radio Hour” presented by The Servant Stage Company, at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome. An offering will be received.
SUNDAY, MAY 15 Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Highway, Ephrata, will hold a Hymn Sing at 7:00 p.m.
SUNDAY, MAY 15 Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 11 North Church Street, Brownstown, will host singer songwriter Matt Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. A dessert and meet and greet intermission will be held.
The Women’s Club of Denver recently presented checks to three of the club’s larger benefactors. Representatives of Horizons, Adamstown Library and the Denver Memorial Park and Playground Associations were each presented a check. Evangel Assembly of God, 939 Linden Road, Ephrata, is celebrating “Missions Around the Block” in May with a variety of events. On Saturday, May 21, local residents are invited to a “Community Give-Away - a yard sale where everything is free.” The congregation has been preparing donations of gently used clothing, toys and household items. On Saturday, the doors of the church will open at 8:00 a.m. for people to come select items their family might need at no cost. Donations for this event will be accepted Monday to Friday, May 16 through May 20, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. No furniture, major appliances or electronic equipment will be accepted. Another event will be a “Block Party” on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m., where several ministries will have tables highlighting their outreaches. All of the ministries perform vital community services within Lancaster County and will be given an opportunity to explain their services. Snacks and decorations will add to the party atmosphere. Evangel’s regular church services will spotlight Joe and Heidi Barrale, counselors of college students, on Sunday, May 22. Teen Challenge Choir from Rehrersburg will be performing on Sunday, May 29. Services start at 10:00 a.m. The community is welcome to participate in all of these events.
