Homes of Hope had a dedication ceremony recently to unveil the newly restored apartments at 233 East Main Street in Ephrata. In December of 2018, an accidental fire left the
apartments uninhabitable, but thanks to volunteers who gave close to 2,700 hours of their time and skill, the apartment building is looking amazing and ready to house new families.
The kitchen and bathroom cabinetry were all donated and the painting was done for free. The volunteers brought it all together. Shown in the photos are

why. In the right photo Barry Kreider (right) and Frank Hoover (left) share a lighthearted moment during the dedication.

What brings back people to the Hope for Haiti Benefit Auction each year? “It’s the unique community feeling. Where else can I go and find all walks of life; Amish, Mennonites and others in the community working towards a common goal of education and business trainings for Haitians? It’s unique, diverse and has a great country, community
feel.” says auction volunteer, Paul Anselmo. He and his wife, Diana moved from New Jersey several years ago to Lancaster County and are amazed at the auction day experience. This year will be the 8th annual Hope for Haiti Benefit Auction, an event with a bevy of auctioned items, a large bake sale,
