The Fivepointville Fire Company is preparing for its Annual Benefit Sale this coming Saturday, May 7 starting at 8:00 a.m. Items will be received on Thursday, May 5 from

12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, May 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. New or items in good condition can be donated or on a consignment basis to the auction.

Quality Items from the following categories will be received: lawn and garden, flowers and shrubs, crafts and quilts, lawn furniture and small outdoor structures and tools.

The “Every 15 Minutes” program was presented to Ephrata High School students on Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29. Students in grades 11 and 12 were exposed to real life experiences and motivational learning opportunities.

Ephrata High School incorporates this program every two years, which includes simulated car crashes and real-life content meant to expose students to events, which could occur when driving distracted or under the influence. Additionally, a group

of students attended a Thursday afternoon retreat at Refreshing Mountain Retreat in Stevens, to participate in team-building activities. These students will also write letters to their families that start off with the statement, “Every 15 Minutes someone dies or is seriously injured due
