On Thursday, April 22 (with a rain date of Friday, April 23), Ephrata Mennonite School is planning a Community Roadside
Cleanup Day. Approximately 330 students plus teachers and parents will work for five hours cleaning up 75 miles of roads in the
Ephrata and surrounding areas. Shown in the photo ready to get to work are, from left to right, (front row) Taylor

Bowmansville Residents Unite To Help A Community Member Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Thanks to residents in and around Bowmansville, one member of their community has been blessed with a brand new riding mower! Lifelong resident Bill Witwer is known throughout the community as someone who has a kind heart, volunteers freely, works hard and mows many yards in the community, including the fire hall, St. Paul’s Church and numerous others. He helps each year at Bowmansville Days and is a real asset within the community. Recently, townspeople came together to fill a need, which was to provide a new mower to Bill. With Ranck’s Family Restaurant and Horst’s Outdoor Power Equipment working together to serve as monetary donation sites, the financial goal was quickly met to purchase a new mower thanks to so many joining in this effort. Shown in the photo, from left to right, are Donna Ranck (Ranck’s Family Restaurant), Willard Horst (Owner, Horst’s Outdoor Power Equipment), Larry Klaussen (community representative) and sitting on his brand new Snapper SPX mower is an appreciative Bill Witwer.
