WEAVERLAND VALLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese With spring upon us, the group of men who comprise the Lancaster County Facilities Management Team are extra busy keeping our 20 covered bridges and 40 concrete bridges in good condition with a variety of maintenance chores. The men are shown working on the Keller’s Mill Covered Bridge near Akron and they did everything from paint touch up to resetting nails, to even cutting areas that catch debris and cause problems. The team is very meticulous with their work. Shown at the top left are the team hammering nails, cutting a new side height and catching any cut wood before it falls into the waterway. Shown on the top right is some paint touch up work, and below that they are trimming a section, and installing a custom fabricated exterior scaffolding that hangs from the inside to allow exterior access.
