Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The Garden Spot National Honor Society coordinated a blood drive with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank and the result was over 72 people making the decision to donate. The amount of life saving blood collected will help save the lives of 129 patients in the area. Because of the support that the students at Garden Spot showed during this event, two collection buses were on-site to handle the volume. Fairmount Annual Book Sale
ment Community in Ephrata is planning to hold its 4th Annual Community Book Sale on Saturday, April 27, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The book sale will Fairmount Homes Retire- be held in the Farm Crest
Community Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive on the east side of the Fairmount campus. Donations of used books are welcomed so they can
be sorted and priced ahead of time. Children’s books, Christian fiction and non fiction, biographies, history, songbooks, memoirs, and books of local interest are some of the donations
they would appreciate. All proceeds from the book sale will go to the Fairmount Homes Sharing Fund for the benefit of residents who have outlived their resources.
Dramatic Production Of “Robin Hood” Set To Take The Stage At Cocalico Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Cocalico Middle School is proud to announce this year’s dramatic production of “Robin Hood.” Performances will take place Thursday through Saturday, March 7 to March 9 in the Cocalico Middle School Auditorium, and all shows will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Cast members for Cocalico Middle School’s upcoming play “Robin Hood” are shown on set. They include, from left to right, (front) Sydney Renad (Salome), Gwen Zecchinelli (Mother Meg), Kyra Armet (Beth), Gwynn Horning; (back) Clayton Martin (Kasper), Kaylie Ogden (Lady Merle), Ryan Blocksom (Will Scarlet), Joanna Kirk (Maid Marian), Jessica Kiehl (Annabel), Cameron Nye (Robin Hood), Ryan Moncavage (Little John), Ross Glass (Sheriff) and Mark Opalko (Soldier). The play takes audiences back to Medieval England where Robin Hood, the outlaw of Sherwood Forest, leads a notorious, yet funfilled life with his band of merry followers. In Robin’s forest, all are equal and
justice prevails; however, the same cannot be said for the rest of England. With King Richard the Lionheart off to the Holy Land on a Crusade, wicked Prince
John has taken control and rules the country with oppression and greed. In an effort to end this tyrannical rule, Robin and his merry band make it their mission
to thwart the ruthless deeds of Prince John and his sheriff by robbing the rich to give to the poor. Robin’s world takes a romantic turn when he
notices a mysterious caravan traveling through Sherwood Forest, carrying none other than his childhood sweetheart, the lovely Maid Marian. It is not long,
