Hinkletown Mennonite School Presents “Pollyanna” Hinkletown Mennonite School (HMS) middle school students will present “Pollyanna” on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26, at the school campus. This classic story from Eleanor Porter invites audiences to join Pollyanna, an orphan facing formidable circumstances in a town full of pessimists, in her “Glad Game.” Pollyanna takes the words of her father to heart—that you can find something good about anything that happens—and in the process changes the perspective of her neighbors and her domineering Aunt Polly, bringing hope and smiles to a dreary town. Performances include a dinner theater at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25, followed by two performances on Saturday, February 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Shown in the photo, from left to right, are (standing) Madi Ament (grade eight, Miss Harrington); Mason Regitz (grade eight, John Pendleton); and (seated) Lily Zimmerman (grade six, Pollyanna). Middle school cast members are really excited about the opportunity to explore the dramatic arts. “[On stage] you get to be creative with your character,” shares eighth
grader Lucia Chase, one of the students who plays Nancy, Pollyanna’s maid. “We get to express ourselves more than in class,” adds Kara Burkholder (grade
