Eastern Lancaster County Library (ELANCO Library) is celebrating “Love Your Library” Month in February by sponsoring a “Share the Love” program. The “Share the Love” is part of the ELANCO Library’s effort to promote “Love Your

Library” Month, which is an initiative to encourage residents to invest into their local libraries. “Share the Love” is similar to the idea of paying it forward. From Monday, February 1 to Sunday, February 28, community members can come in and help to pay a

child’s fine. Donors can choose any amount to help this campaign. That amount will be allotted for a child’s fine on their account. The child is selected randomly and the donation is completely anonymous. Sometimes a fine can deter families from coming back

Due to COVID-19 it was possible to hold only one fundraiser at the beginning of 2020. “This is the Friends 19th year for our annual donation of $25,000 and we feel fortunate we are able to continue our obligation to the library,” said Friends President, Margaret Harting.

The Friends are looking forward to normal times when they can welcome faithful supporters back to their fundraisers.
