Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Mr. LoPiccolo’s Sports and Entertainment Marketing class was at it again with their third annual “Shark Tank” style project, sponsored by the Ephrata Area Chamber of Commerce. The marketing class was broken up into teams. Each team came up with a new product idea and then pitched their idea to local business leaders. The business leaders voted on which group had the best overall sales pitch and first, second and third place winners were selected. The winning teams were: First Place, Product: The Chilly Slurp, Team Members: Seth Bollinger, Hannah Lutz, Brendan Holbritter, Adam Maser; Second Place, Product: Prestige Fan, Team Members: Jory Hagan, Holden Haws, Dylan Lindberg; and Third Place, Product: Apex Solar Shades, Team Members: Angel Castillo, Sarah Van Roy, Bryce Holbritter, Alex Prince. The local business community donated some amazing prizes for all of the students in the class. A big thank you to Blue Ridge Communications, Dairy Queen, Dawn Mentzer Freelance Writing, Ephrata National Bank, Ephrata Public Library, Ephrata Rec Center, Larrimore Family Dentistry, Members 1st Federal Credit Union, Metlife and Carol Brian, Refreshing Mountain, Windstream and YogurtWorks for their support. Mr. LoPiccolo, who is a board member of the Ephrata Area Chamber of Commerce, feels the project is a great opportunity for students to express their marketing and entrepreneurial prowess.
