Mild temperatures offered a brief respite at weeks end but did not last long with the cold quickly returning. This buggy is making its way on a back road as the sun warms the start of the day near Lititz as the last of the snow was rapidly melting.

The Ephrata Area Education Foundation will host the 4th Annual Purple and Gold Gala on Saturday, February 24 at the Lancaster Country Club, Lancaster. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Ephrata Area Education Foundation. Through the support of the community, the foundation is able to provide innovative educational materials, programs and trips to the students in the Ephrata Area School District to enhance their educational experiences beyond the standard curriculum. The foundation remains committed to this mission and strives to engage and inspire all students to reach new heights. The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails where guests will have the chance to mingle, bid on silent auction items, partake in small games of chance and enjoy listening to Ephrata High School Tri-M Honor Society students. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be followed by dinner and a live auction. Entertainment will be provided by 3 West Productions during dinner. The auctioneer for the evening will be John M.
