You’re here to shape your future, and we’re here to help you shape it. Let’s get started.

Full-Time Courses

Our full-time courses are all about getting you ready for what comes next, whether that’s progressing straight into a job after college or opting for higher education and university.

You’ll focus on one main subject to gain the skills you need for a career in that field, and you’ll be taught by industry expert lecturers who are experienced in the latest sector developments. Your study programme will also equip you with a wide range of transferable skills that will give you options if you ever want to change career direction in the future.

You’ll further benefit from our superb facilities where you’ll learn in a real-life working environment, with a range of advanced state-of-the-art equipment, and you’ll have access to extensive support services throughout your time with us.

Joining college means taking on a full-time commitment, and you’ll be supported in developing the independence and responsibility that come with it.

Course Structure

Classes

Classes will be divided over three to four days (in addition to any time needed for resitting English/maths), with an expectation that you set aside further time for home study, tutorials and assignments. Missing lessons or being regularly late may put your place on the course at risk. If you have a part-time job, it must fit around your college timetable.

Main Subject Qualification

This is the main part of your course. You’ll focus on your chosen subject, learning the skills and knowledge that employers need from you. Your lecturers will be on hand to share their expertise with you, with plenty of opportunities for one-to-one support.

Work Placements

Most courses include a work placement that will help you experience your chosen industry. Depending on your course, you might do a one-week placement (37 hours) or a longer placement that amounts to 45+ days throughout the year.

English and Maths

If your GCSE grades are 4 or higher, you’ll continue to develop your English and maths skills alongside your main subject. If they’re below 4, you’ll need to retake GCSEs or do functional skills qualifications. These requirements will be automatically added to your timetable alongside your main subject.

Tutorial and Enrichment Programme

You’ll have regular tutorials to help you establish your next steps and realise your full potential. You’ll also be able to explore a broader perspective on life, society and culture as you prepare to take your first steps into the world of work.

Why a T Level Might Be Right for You

T Levels offer a unique blend of learning styles. In your first year, you’ll focus on building a solid foundation in your chosen field. Then, in the second year, you’ll dive deeper into specialised subjects, becoming an expert in what interests you. You’ll be assessed through a mix of exams, coursework, and on-the-job evaluations, so you’re tested on both what you know and what you can do.

We learn in a much more practical way. We have work experience as a major part of our course, and you learn like you would in work. You don’t learn it for the point of passing exams, you learn it to best prepare you for the workplace.

By the end of your T Level, you’ll have a qualification equivalent to three A Levels, complete with UCAS points. This opens doors to a range of next steps, from jumping straight into your career, to taking on a Higher Apprenticeship, or moving on to university or higher technical qualifications.

Offering support in admissions, careers and higher education, we can help identify the right course for you as well as support you in your planning and progression onto work-based learning, employment or higher education.

Coming to an Open Event is a great way to find out more about the courses you are interested in. Speaking to our lecturers and students can give you a feel for what to expect and what would be right for you. You can also explore the college and see the facilities that you will be working in, finding the place that will be right for you.

As you transition to college, we are on hand to offer advice and guidance with all aspects of your career and progression. Our specialist careers teams will ensure a professional service in which you receive support throughout your time at college.

Work Placements

We believe learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. That’s why our work placements programme gives you the chance to step into the real world, build your confidence, and gain the professional skills employers are looking for.

What to Expect

You will complete between 35-100 hours of work experience, tailored to your interests, whether in a local business, charity, school, or public service. Placements are designed to help you:

> Apply what you’ve learned in class in a real-world setting

> Build valuable skills like communication, teamwork, and time management

> Understand industry expectations and career pathways

T Level Industry Placements

If you’re studying a T Level, you’ll take part in an extended industry placement – usually 315 hours (about 45 days) in a sector relevant to your course. For Childcare & Early Years, this extends to 750 hours, giving you in-depth, hands-on experience.

You’ll be carefully matched with a placement that suits your goals, and supported throughout by a dedicated Work Placement Officer.

Ongoing Support

We’re with you every step of the way, helping you to:

> Find the right placement based on your goals

> Prepare your CV and interview skills

> Reflect on your experience and plan your next move

Placement Opportunities

Students have gained experience in:

> Schools, nurseries, and healthcare settings

> Digital, creative, and retail sectors

> Engineering, construction, and IT industries

> Charities, councils, sports organisations, and more

Community-Based Projects

You’ll also have the chance to take part in community-based projects – from supporting charities and organising events, to getting involved in environmental work. These opportunities help you grow in confidence and develop leadership and teamwork skills, all while giving back.

Inclusive and Accessible

We make sure that all placements are inclusive, offering tailored support if you have additional needs. We work closely with employers to make sure you feel safe, supported, and set up for success.
