Fun and games at Montgomery Fest T
housands of area residents descended upon downtown Montgomery this past weekend as the village hosted the annual Montgomery Fest community celebration along the banks of the Fox River. As in past years, the fest featured plenty of live music, food, a carnival, business booths and parade all capped off with a fireworks display Sunday evening.

mschury@kendallcountynow.com Oswego Township Highway Supervisor Gary Grosskopf made no public comments Tuesday evening concerning accusations he oversaw his office this past winter from a home he keeps in Florida with his wife. Grosskopf was in attendance for the monthly township board meeting held in the township government office in Oswego. About 20 people, including several media representatives, attended the meeting. Shortly before the public comment portion of the meeting, the board passed a motion limiting comments to one minute for each speaker. Those who spoke were split, with some supporting Grosskopf while others took him to task for the accusations. Kendall County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Joe Jaznosz said this week that detectives are still investigating. Grosskopf has not been charged with a crime. The sheriff’s office received a complaint from a citizen regarding Grosskopf, Jaznosz reported. The complaint alleged that Grosskopf had not been residing within Oswego Township prior to the last consolidated election in the spring. Grosskopf has been township highway supervisor for 26 years and his current term will end in 2017. The Township Road District is responsible for snowplowing and maintaining roads in the unincorporated areas of Oswego Township, including the Boulder Hill subdivision. Ed Reuland of Boulder Hill was the first resident to speak at the meeting and said he supported Grosskopf. “I think that Mr. Grosskopf is doing a wonderful job with the snow
