County residents travel to Washington for presidential inauguration, Women’s March By TONY SCOTT tscott@kendallcountynow.com Some local residents traveled to Washington, D.C., over the weekend to attend the inauguration of President Donald Trump and the Women’s March on Washington. A few of them talked to us about their experiences. Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder of Oswego attended the presidential inauguration ceremony and some inaugural events; Michael Krauss of Yorkville, a Yorkville High School graduate and cadet at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in New York, marched in the inaugural parade; and Brenda Moring, a Bristol native and Yorkville High School
grad who now lives in Forest Park, attended and marched in the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday. Gryder attended the inauguration ceremony Friday afternoon and three inauguration-related events. Gryder said he attended a small event organized by the Illinois congressional delegation on Wednesday night. During the day on Thursday, he met with U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren, R-Plano, to talk about county issues. That evening, he was at the Illinois State Society Inaugural Heartland Ball. Gryder said the Heartland Ball was a bipartisan event, and he was able to chat with Democratic Rep. Danny Davis, U.S.
