Kick starting the Summer that’s what!

Even though we’re still masked, there’s a ever growing feeling of awakening around the Málaga province. Whilst we still struggle with PCR tests when booking a flight or restrictions when it comes to bums on seats, there is a sense of progression as we hit the sumer season. If you are an event promoter, or a venue or simply trying to fill your terrace as a restauranteur It can’t be easy to say the least. Hospitality is a huge industry here on the Costa Del Sol and it was literally shut down overnight. So it is a welcoming feeling to see things staring up slowly but surely. We should all soon feel the knock on effects and see the costa flourish once again!

Starting in June, Wimbledon promises 25% capacity (or more) depending on new guidelines to be confirmed. But a little closer to home, Malaga will endeavor to kick off the Spanish Film Festival on the 3rd of June which will run to the 16th of June. The organisers have announced a new format which must fit within the social distancing guidelines. This is definitely a sign that people are keen to attend social gatherings and look forward entertainment. Strange News: Radio Active Vodka!

In 2019, a group of scientists and distillers decided to create a bold new type of booze: Atomik, an artisanal alcoholic spirit made from ingredients grown in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant’s still-radioactive exclusion zone. The booze itself was not radioactive after the distilling process, Live Science previously reported.

Now, the first batch of Atomik is finally complete and all 1,500 bottles of it have been seized by Ukrainian Secret Services agents for unknown reasons, according to a statement from Atomik’s manufacturer, The Chernobyl Spirit Company.

A spokesman said “It seems that they are accusing us of using forged Ukrainian excise stamps, but this doesn’t make sense since the bottles are for the U.K. market and are clearly labelled with valid U.K. excise stamps” Atomik is made from apples grown in Ukraine’s Narodychi District, which sits on the edge of the exclusion zone and was heavily polluted by fallout from the meltdown.

This region still has a population of nearly 10,000 people, according to Ukraine’s State Statistics Service, and must abide by stringent agricultural restrictions.

With Atomik, the creators aim to prove that some products made near the exclusion zone can be safe for consumption, according to the company’s website. Several years ago, the Atomik team tested rye crops from the exclusion zone for radiation, and found that the grains were indeed contaminated!

Go take a HIKE!

Hiking is one of the activities that is increasingly gaining more and more prominence among nature and sport lovers.

Cerro Lucero Cerro Lucero is a 9.3 kilometer lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Canillas de Albaida, Málaga, Spain that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is best used from May until October.

Cerro Lucero, also known as Raspón de los Moriscos, is one of the most stunning peaks of the Sierra de Almijara. Among the hikes in Malaga, this one is thought to be a regional classic. The trail goes through Puerto Llano and then becomes steeper. It eventually gets to the barren, rocky peak of El Lucero.

Throughout the hike, there are fantastic views over the Sierra de Almijara and the Mediterranean Sea. This used to be a strategic vantage point

during the Spanish Civil War, so there are some interesting ruins on the summit. In a way it reminds me of the Alta Via dei Monzoni, one of the nicest hikes in the Dolomites. It’s probably why I find this a must when hiking in Malaga.

This 10 km trail can be walked in around 4 hours. The starting point is located at 1.5 km from Puerto Blanquillo, which is at around 1 hour and 45 minutes drive from the city. Not the nearest of the hikes in Malaga, actually.

Not dangerous but there is a bit of exposure on the latter sections as you go along a ridge and then zigzag up the rocky and well-engineered path to the summit. All so well worth it though, for the truly spectacular views at the top, where you can sit and rest and shelter from the wind or the sun in the ruins of the old Guardia Civil post. All in all a great walk, up one of the iconic peaks of the natural park Difficulty Level: INTERMEDIATE

Italian Meatball Recipe

Homemade Italian Meatballs Tender meatballs just like your Italian grandma would make, in a fraction of the time. A simple mix of ground beef, seasonings, and Parmesan cheese form these meatballs that get baked in the oven before taking a quick simmer in your favourite marinara sauce.

Ingredients 6 SERVINGS 1 pounds 85% lean ground beef 1 cloves garlic 1 large egg 1/4 cup dried breadcrumbs 1/2 tablespoon Italian seasoning 1 ounces grated Parmesan cheese (2 oz. is about 2/3 cup, for meatballs) 1 teaspoon of salt black pepper (to taste) 1/2 jar marinara sauce (24 oz. per jar) grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Directions: Preheat the oven to 180ºc.

Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.

Grate or press the garlic cloves into a large mixing bowl. Add the beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Using clean hands, mix the ingredients until just combined.

What you need to know before a Bikin Wax! Known by many wax practicing women as maintaining “The Hairy Trangle!”

1. Let hair grow out.

Odds on for Wimbledon!

When is Wimbledon 2021?

In 2021, Wimbledon will take place over two weeks at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club between 28 June and 11 July.

The Championships at Wimbledon is one of four Grand Slam tournaments in the tennis calendar, alongside the Australian Open, French Open and US Open.

It traditionally takes place after the French Open, also known as Roland Garros, and before the US Open - and is the only Grand Slam to be played on grass courts.

How many spectators will be allowed into Wimbledon 2021?

Organisers are working towards a minimum capacity of 25 percent for the 2021 tournament, which could see 6,000 tickets available to the public each day of the 13-day spectacle.

Discussions with the government continue to find the safest way possible to hold the tournament, with social distancing measures

and mask wearing indoors expected.

Henman Hill is likely to be accessible to spectators in some form, such as reduced capacity.

Will more Wimbledon 2021 tickets become available?

The tournament begins a week after the last step in the government’s roadmap out of lockdown restrictions, initially planned for 21 June when all social contact laws could be lifted.

Hotel Stays Post Pandemic

Cleanliness:Travellers have always rated hotel cleanliness highly, but will be hyperconscious and vigilant around it going forward. Hotels will need to demonstrate that they have implemented enhanced health and safety protocols for cleaning guest rooms, meeting spaces and common spaces in their properties, as well as back-of-house areas. It is expected that auditing initiatives will ultimately be implemented to measure hotel compliance with a stated criteria for cleanliness. Dining: Who doesn’t love starting the day off with a plate of muesli, scrambled eggs, sliced cheeses and meats, toast, strawberry yoghurt and a pain au chocolat?

Alas, while we all adore the breakfast buffet, it may become a thing of the past. Bowls of peanuts on bars and complimentary plates of cake in the afternoon are nice little touches previously offered by many hotels, but these will have to be eliminated.

Technology: We all enjoy being welcomed

at reception by smiling hotel staff, but some hotels will now implement automated self check-in procedures. Virtual check-ins and digital keys using your phone will be used more and more at hotels like Hilton. Chilling out in hotel pools and getting active in their gyms are great perks to staying at hotels, but new protocols will have to be followed when they re-open. It is likely that scheduled gym time-slots wil be introduced, for example, so we won’t be able to just rock up when we feel like it.

Fitness Workout!

This yoga pose warms and stretches the back muscles and spine. While there are a few other versions of this exercise, we will stick with the classic one.

How it’s done: Kneel down on all fours.

With your palms placed directly under your shoulders and your knees directly under your hips. Lift your right leg upward so that it’s in line with your torso. Slowly fold your knee so that your foot gets closer to your head, with your toe pointing toward your head. Stay in this position for 10-15 seconds. A Shape of The Face: Shape of the face has the most important role to play when it comes to choosing a proper hairstyle. a) If you have an elongated face shape then you should try out medium length hairstyles. Avoid straightened or long hairstyles because these will make your face look even more vertically stretched. If you however choose a long hairstyle then make it a bit curly or wavy hairstyles.b) If you have a round or squarish face shape then you can go for bangs and sleek hairstyles.

Eye Strain... How to sooth it!

How to reduce and sooth eye strain..

Soothing your eyes can bring quick relief during a bout of eyestrain. A big part of preventing strain is simple: take breaks from what you’re staring at for long periods. Stay hydrated, and make sure you’re blinking enough to keep your eyes refreshed. If you have to stare at a screen for a long time uninterrupted, you can wear glare cutting glasses or install glare cutting devices on your monitor. If you’re driving for long stretches, wear sunglasses with UV protection to help prevent strain.

Sleeping always relaxes the eyes. If that is not practical, closing your eyes and resting for five minutes can help. At night, even if you have contacts that you can sleep in, you shouldn’t. They will dry your eyes out to some degree and stress your eyes even while sleeping.

Lower your surrounding light levels or

move into the shade. If you have eyestrain from staring at a computer screen, use blinds or shades to lower sunlight glare on the monitor, and adjust lights above and behind you to not shine directly on the computer.

Splash your face with cold water. Try extremely cold water with ice cubes if you can stand it. Splash it on your face and back of your neck for three to seven minutes.

Tea & Cucumber. Beauty regimens such as placing tea bags or cucumber slices on your eyelids do help soothe them.

Neck stretches. Eyestrain is usually coupled with a neck strain, close your eyes and gently stretch your neck.
