Lifeways Issue 6

Ske:g Tas.

I am Lena JacksonEckert, an Assistant Community Manager. I was raised in Salt River for most of my life. My parents are David and Reggie Jackson. My paternal grandparents are Dean Jackson (bot) and Idella Hall (bot). My maternal grandparents are Rosemarie and Ernest Peter (bot). I have been serving the Community for the last 18 years in various departments and the last 12 as an ACM.

As ACM I oversee Senior Services, Social Services, Defense Advocates Office, Human Resources and Health and Human Services. I am excited about the many plans to enrich and improve the lives of our people. For example, beginning the process of building a new Senior Center where you will be able to enjoy yourself and each other during breakfast, lunch or recreational activities. It will also provide space for staff who work hard every day to assist with homecare services, homedelivered meals and all other social services.

We will continue to partner with other departments such as Health and Human Services to create programs to help improve the health of our Community members. We know that wellness is more than physical health but also mental health, spiritual connection and access to quality services. Our people deserve a long life filled with good health and happiness and we all have a role to help create a more healthy community. I look forward to our future.

Feel free to stop by and chat with me. My office is located in Two Waters A, Suite 300.
