and minimize obstacles, Seminole State has the classes, programs and resources to help you achieve the future you want.
Our tuition is about half what you’d pay at a state university. Financial aid and scholarships make us even more affordable. And each year, we award more than $1 million in institutional scholarships and more than $50 million in financial aid.
Seminole State takes a student-centered approach to education, which includes smaller classes where you’re not a number, but a valued member of our College community.
We have five campuses, physical and virtual, with learning options including in-person, online, remote and hybrid classes so you can study in the way that best suits your needs.
Earn your bachelor’s degree in a highdemand field at Seminole State! Take advantage of our strong partnerships with local business and industry and curricula that meet 21st-century demands.
Our university transfer pathways include DirectConnect to UCF®, which provides guaranteed entry* to the University of Central Florida, or transfer to one of Florida’s 12 state universities as a junior through the 2 + 2 program.
At Seminole State, you’ll learn from quality, engaged professors with master’s and doctoral degrees. Plus, our Grindle Honors Institute lets you maximize your academic experience.
*Consistent with university policy. Limited- and restricted-access programs may require an additional admissions process.
APPLY ONLINE and complete your steps to enroll. Applications are accepted throughout the year. If you’re ready to get started, visit seminolestate.edu/apply.
In addition to affordable tuition, Seminole State provides multiple resources to help students and their families pay for college.
Our dedicated FAFSA website (sem.st/fafsa) is one of the best resources to learn why and how to apply for aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The bulk of financial aid awards, including scholarships, grants, federal work-study programs and loans, are estimated based on information you provide on the FAFSA.
What’s the big deal about scholarships? Like grants, scholarships provide cash for college that doesn’t have to be repaid, and Seminole State has a website dedicated entirely to helping students find them. Seminole State awards more than $1 million in scholarships each year, and many private organizations award scholarships too. Criteria for scholarships range from academic merit to financial need to involvement in extracurricular activities. So, don’t be afraid to apply. You may qualify for more than you think.
With payment due dates based on when you register for classes, budgeting for college just got a little easier. The earlier you register, the more time you have to pay — and the more likely you are to get the class schedule you want. Now that’s what we call a win-win.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU includes offering the financial tools and resources you need to achieve your goals and make the most of your college experience.

Once you become a Seminole State student, you’re automatically a member of the (unofficial…but we’ll count it anyway) Raider fan club, which means free admission to all Raider home events! Our five athletic teams compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as members of the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA)/Mid-Florida Conference.
Keep up with the Raiders all year, and shop for your official Raider gear at sscraiders.com
In 1966, founding President Dr. Earl Weldon chose the Raider as the College’s mascot, representing the myriad ornithological life on the new campus. Central Florida Zoo bird keeper Cindy Dupree says the Raider mascot is among the most successful raptors in the United States, and a dedicated hunter with sharp vision. Its tenacity, speed and keen-eyed pursuit of its prey reflect the ethos and attitude of the Raider athletes. The bird of prey has been the Raiders’ visual concept, with some modifications, since the inception of the athletics program.
Being a Seminole State student means having the opportunity to be involved in more than 40 student clubs and organizations, from those that are purely for fun to those looking to change the world and everything in between. But, more important, these are chances for you to interact and learn from like-minded students who share your passion and commitment. Don’t see a club or organization you want? Start your own! by earning your Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree from Seminole State. The A.A. degree program is a two-year course of study that parallels the first two years of a bachelor’s degree in the State University System.
The A.A. degree program is about half the cost of the first two years in a four-year college or university. Smaller class sizes allow teachers to better assist students when needed. Seminole State students who transfer to a fouryear college or university perform academically as well as third-year university students.
One of the greatest benefits of our A.A. program is that you can take your first two years at Seminole State and stay for a bachelor’s degree. The credits you earn at Seminole State can also be transferred to the four-year college or university of your choice. After earning an A.A. degree, Seminole State students are guaranteed acceptance to one of Florida’s public universities.
The Grindle Honors Institute has its own faculty, courses, scholarships, one-on-one advising and priority registration. Graduates of this program also receive generous scholarships to transfer to elite colleges and universities. The following designations are available:
