TECHNOLOGY BACHELOR OF SCIENCE

PROGRAM INFORMATION

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Systems Technology provides the critical skills and knowledge required to direct and control computerized information resources within diverse organizational settings. The curriculum focuses on providing students with the expertise and knowledge to support the design, planning and management of information infrastructures, as well as coordinate information resources.

WHY SEMINOLE STATE?

• Industry-driven curriculum: The courses were developed with input from the regional business community and economic development agencies and are focused on new and emerging technologies, such as information security, cybersecurity and mobile handheld devices.

SPECIALIZATIONS

• Cyber Security In this digital age, the need for information security brings complex technical challenges. With the Cyber Security Specialization, you’ll be prepared to rise to the challenge in this high-demand field with the skills to detect and address computer security threats, including those related to mobile devices and cloud-based computing.

• Programming At the core of nearly every organization is a computer information system. With the Programming Specialization, you’ll receive hands-on training suitable for real-world business situations as you design, build, test and debug computer applications. You’ll also learn the most popular programming languages to write programs that solve complex computer problems, positioning yourself for success in this thriving industry.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Applicants seeking admission to Seminole State College’s bachelor’s degree programs must comply with the College’s General Admissions procedure. In addition, students must meet the following program-specific requirements prior to being accepted into upper-division coursework:

1. Completion of an associate degree or bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Students who have earned a minimum of 60 college credit hours from any regionally accredited institution may request to have their admission reviewed and determined by the faculty committee.

2. A GPA of 2.0 or higher
