Dear Members,

As we embrace the vibrant energy of spring here at Saint Simons and transition into what promises to be an exciting golf season, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support of The Club at Sea Palms, Sago, and Sea Palms Resort.

Undoubtedly, there are challenges that impact all facets of Sea Palms Nevertheless, I am pleased to inform you that ownership is diligently addressing these matters to propel The Club and resort to unprecedented heights. While we eagerly await updates and timelines, I sincerely appreciate your patience and continued patronage. Rest assured, we will promptly communicate any developments and new information as they become available.

I would like to express a special appreciation to Justin Collett and the entire agronomy team for maintaining the exceptional course conditions that we are privileged to enjoy daily The course demonstrated its mettle against formidable collegiate talent during the Peoples Championship and Johnnie-O Invitational Individual in March. With the arrival of spring, the course is only poised to enhance its allure further. We have an array of exciting events lined up, including the Club Championship, Member-Guest, Twilight Blitzes, and Family Fun Day. For details and inquiries, please register on Golf Genius or contact the golf shop.

We trust that you will relish the enhanced experience offered by our new EZGO cart fleet and Pace GPS system

The recent addition of greens maps in March is a notable enhancement that will undoubtedly enhance your enjoyment and performance. Simply observe the screen as you approach each green to access the same greens maps utilized by tour professionals. Furthermore, as we enter the growing season, slight adjustments to some entry and exit points on the geo-fencing will be made to promote turf growth and safeguard sensitive areas. Rest assured, we will provide auditory alerts on days when these temporary adjustments are made. Your cooperation and assistance in maintaining our golf course at its zenith are greatly appreciated

I am delighted to witness The Club garnering recognition for its competitive players across all levels of Membership, from PGA Tour regulars and caddies to accomplished competitors on the state and local circuits. In March, three teams comprising Club members showcased their prowess at the GSGA Four-Ball Tournament at Sanctuary Golf Club; with commendable performances and notable finishes, Ty and Connor Rinoski battled to the end to claim second place overall Ron and Austin York finished T-1 in the Fourth Flight, and Andrew Elam and Chris Ryan dug in for T-2 in the Fifth Flight. Your dedication and hard work are indeed paying dividends, and it is truly inspiring to witness your achievements on the course.

FROM

THE DIRECTOR OF AGRONOMY

The Club at Sea Palms Members,

As the warmth of spring approaches, the Sea Palms Agronomy team is gearing up for an exciting season ahead. Our focus remains on enhancing the playing conditions of our golf course to ensure an enjoyable experience for all members and guests.

Course Maintenance Update

Transitioning Turf: With the transition from overseeded rye to bermudagrass underway, our team is working diligently to facilitate a smooth recovery from winter injury. Increased fertilization, aerification, and targeted tree removals are part of our strategy to revitalize damaged areas.

Priorities for Spring and Summer: Our primary goal is to boost the density and overall health of the turf across the course. This effort will contribute to improved greens speeds and playability for all golfers.

How You Can Help

Repair ball marks promptly

Fill divots on fairways and tees

Maintain bunkers by raking after use

Minimize cart traffic impact by scattering routes

Call to Action

Avoid driving carts through high shade areas and weak turf

Join us in preserving the quality of our course by actively participating in its maintenance Every small effort contributes to creating an exceptional golfing experience for our community.

Wishing you all a fantastic season on the course!

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF SALES

We hope this newsletter finds you well as we venture into the spring season.

The Sales Department is thrilled to share some exciting updates with you. We've been hard at work connecting with prospective and repeat clients, showcasing the property, and curating unforgettable experiences and events at the resort. We are off to a positive start this year and look forward to seeing all the successes and opportunities that the remainder of 2024 will bring.

We are delighted to announce that we have filled the role of our new position, Convention Services Coordinator Please join me in welcoming the sixth member of the Sales and Marketing Team, Morgan Callender! Morgan’s role at Sea Palms entails working alongside the Sales and Banquet team, as well as Food and Beverage, to coordinate Sales and Membership events, constructing and communicating Banquet Event Orders, and ultimately will play a vital role to the function and success of the resort. This position alleviates pressure off of our Sales Managers and allows them more time to allocate toward bringing in new clientele.

We are extremely excited about our newest event space, Square 67. Our first event at the Square took place this March and was an ultimate success, despite the weather conditions. Power sourcing has now been installed, which is acclimated to accommodate our vendors appropriately. We look forward to hosting many amazing events at this location in the upcoming year(s)

As we look forward to growing as a resort and club, we are always looking for creative ways to bring in new business. With our additional event spaces, we can accommodate multiple events at once and we are the only venue on the island that can offer all the following features:

On-site Bridal Suite and Hospitality Suite (Magnolia and Dogwood)

On-site Hotel Accommodations

On-site 18-Hole Golf Course

On-site Pool

On-site Restaurant & Bar

On-site Catering Services

Greetings Members,

We are looking forward to an exciting spring. We launched our new spring menu last month and hope you are enjoying the new offerings. If you haven’t had a chance to come try the menu, I would highly recommend our new Steak House Flatbread, Catfish Sandwich, and the Salmon Primavera with couscous.

The team here at Sago loves to be creative and come up with new dishes every week for our brunch guests. We look forward to seeing you at our Easter Brunch Buffet, which includes a full spread of breakfast staples, a fresh market garden salad bar and charcuterie, local seafood, and southern-style supper items

Thank you for your support as we continue to work hard to make Sago your favorite restaurant on the island.
