ARE WE AT THE PEAK OF THE CURRENT REAL ESTATE CYCLE? Home prices in East Honolulu neighborhoods are continuing a recent trend of steady, albeit modest, gains. Through the first four months of 2018, from Aina Haina through Hawaii Kai, the median sales price of a single family home was $1,155,000. This is a 4% increase over the same time period last year. Homes in East Honolulu are still selling quickly with a median days on market of 23 days, showing that the demand is still there for properties that are priced accurately. Many local economists are forecasting small gains in median prices over the next couple of years, but this could be followed by a slight decline or plateau.
