The Oberpollinger is the number one shopping destination in Munich.

A MUNICH SHOPPING ICON THAT IS INCOMPARABLE The Oberpollinger is widely considered Munich’s number-one shopping destination. Built as far back as 1905 and situated directly at the popular Neuhauser Straße, in recent years the luxury department store has been lovingly refurbished and presents an exciting shopping experience with internationally known brands in a whole new splendour.

Alexander Repp, and mentions another highlight on offer: the beauty department not only features top-players like Chanel and Dior, but also niche brands like Byredo and Aesop. The second floor, meanwhile, is many a woman’s dream: 2,000 square metres of shoes.

CHRISTMAS AT OBERPOLLINGER “We want to be Munich’s department store with a heart. This means that with great intuition and joy, our colleagues can identify our guests’ every wish and desire,” says General Manager Alexander Repp. This includes, for example, interpreting existing trends individually and personally for different clients and inspiring them to try out new ideas. For this, Oberpollinger also offers a personal shopping service: “We have a specialised team of styling experts that looks after our customers personal shopping wishes. With a lot of know-how, experience and empathy, our team addresses individual needs and finds the right styling for each person.” BRAND WORLDS THAT INVITE YOU TO EXPLORE

Christmas is a unique and magical time at Oberpollinger: “This year we have fantastic window displays with the number-one Christmas brand, Tiffany,” reveals Alexander Repp. The whole building is decorated in classic Christmas colours and the fourth floor holds the annual Christmas market. “Christmas celebrates harmony and the joy of giving and we enjoy inspiring people with gift ideas,” says Alexander Repp. “On the fifth floor, you will additionally find yet another highlight in our fabulous roof terrace: with little chalets and a festive atmosphere, the Winter Wonderland is Munich’s highest Christmas market, so to speak – a true insider’s tip.” The charming chalets are heated and “we offer some fantastic catering,” concludes Repp – and all that in a typically pleasant Alpine atmosphere.
