Together with the Promoter of the Faith, six of eight prescribed Consultors attended the session. The two absent Consultors had previously sent their written votes. After the debate, the Congress, unanimously, shared the opportunity that the postulation explain what kind of problems hindered the veneration of the Servant of God, as well as the normal missionary activity carried out by the Scalabrini Fathers at the time of Marchetti in order to check the extraordinary nature of his work. After reviewing the responses of the postulation, on January 21, 2016, the Consultors who expressed the main findings gave the following supplementary opinion: Vote II has been from suspensive to affirmative余

MSCS Presented Blessed Assunta Marchetti as Model:

F

acing migration realities of the year 2000 with the solution found in 1800 by Mother Assunta Marchetti, co-Founder of the Scalabrinian Sisters was discussed during the convention "Migration & Women: Resolving actual emergencies by revisiting the past, the example of Mother Assunta", held at the Centro Congressi Augustinum, Rome. It was organized and promoted by the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo - Scalabrinians and by the Brazilian Embassy to the Holy See in the occasion of the International Women’s Day. "Mother Assunta belongs to the Church and the civil society. Italian in Brazil today testifies that they can overcome the frontier. The migration continues to become a sign of times that is influencing the Church. We want to remember her as a sign of a concrete response of our time, especially for the welcome of unaccompanied minors". Sr. Neusa de Fatima Mariano, Superior General of the Scalabrinians, said “Assunta Marchetti, Mother of the orphans, does the inspiration for all of us. She has welcomed orphaned children in her arms. Migrants between migrants, in particular in front of unaccompanied minors. She was a migrant among migrants and restored to society and the Church a model of socio-pastoral service. she concluded.

"Mother Assunta has protected the Italian migrants and I cannot fail to ask myself this question: How many women who have already inspired and still being inspired by her example of love and mercy towards the others? The example of Mother Assunta is particularly stimulating", underlined by the Ambassador of the Brazilian Embassy to the Holy See, Denis de Souza Pinto.

MSCS Presented Mother Assunta Marchetti as Model "In Mother Assunta there is an example of the Church of charity. Her beatification is a renewed dedication of charity: we have to be kind in the field of hospitality – of welcoming, attentive to the wounds and the sufferings of humanity. We have to be a Samaritan Church. Mother Assunta was mother of the orphans, of migrants people, her example is all this time a stimulus for the Church dedicating herself to the poor, to the migrants, refugees, to the persecuted of our time", said Cardinal Odilo Pedro Scherer of the Archdiocese of San Paulo, Brazil. For Monsignor Italo Castellani, Archbishop of Lucca, "Mother Assunta had the charism of a strong woman and the motherly one. She loved intensely the neighbor, dedicating herself to the migrants, to the orphans, to the sick. Her testimony has a shocking actuality in this Jubilee year - he added - Mother Assunta has become migrant, one of them.

She profoundly highlighted how important it is today of having woman like Mother Assunta. The life of the co-foundress of the Scalabrinian Sisters was a humble and charming. Assunta knew to live the vocation in maternal or motherly way and had practiced the most common stereotypes for the orphan children not from her womb, but from her love as consecrated woman. Her tenderness was firm, decisive, discreetly sweet and motherly".

"Migration constructs the Reign of God. The plan of God to unite people in one Church passes through migration, that is not bad but it is good", underlined Father Fabio Baggio, president of SIMI (ScalabrinianI International Migration Institute). For Monsignor Giancarlo Perego, Director of the Migrantes Fondazione, "the attention for the unaccompanied minors should be whole, touching the all, the free time, religious and cultural experience. One cannot accompany without the attention of whoever is important for their growth. Today, based on the testimony of Mother Assunta, we have to construct a Church different for the unaccompanied minors. For example, with the experience of youth ministry who have at the center of this care. It is asked a new fantasy, just like what Mother Assunta and Father Joseph Marchetti had".

Sr. Leocadia Mezzomo, postulator of the cause of canonization of Mother Assunta Marchetti presented how did she become "mother for orphaned children, an educator, catechist, doctor, graduated in the school of life. She made herself prodigal in the service of the needy. She became sister in faith, protective mother, teacher of life." Assunta and her company represent already, as what the Pope said, a Church for others. They were Samaritan missionaries - she added.

This visit is preview to be formally closed on 19 & 20 May, 2016. This is based upon Jesus Christ, five major realities intertwine constantly, as conditions essential for our spiritual and missionary fruitfulness: Jesus Christ, Migrants, Relations, Culture of Vocation and Internal Organization. These themes were been reflected during the canonical visitation.

"With a heart full of gratitude to God, I give thanks for conducting this first step will canonical visit Christ the King Province, which was indeed a time of grace and many blessings of God, and a valuable opportunity of living together, sharing, being with the Sisters and establish contact with the richness of the apostolic missionary diversity, where the Province is present” as expressed by Superior General.

“I warmly thank the sisterly, friendly and warm welcome to each of the Sisters in the community, expressed through significant gestures and different ways. In particular their openness each one in the proposal and schedules of the visit, in the certainty that will not be the unfinished work which the Lord himself began!” she concluded. 5

Scalabrinians at St. Peter Square for the Jubilee of Migrants

S

even thousand have participated in the Angelus of the Pope and then to other Religious functions together at the Cross of Lampedusa, realized with wooden boats, symbol of travels of hope that the migrants take to restart a new life. They were the protagonists, the migrants, during the World Day for the Migrants and Refugees organized in Vatican in the Holy Year of Mercy. It was celebrated also as Jubilee of the Migrants. The day was organized by the Migrantes Foundation. "I am happy to greet with great affection the ethnic communities here presents, all you from various regions of Italy, especially from Lazio", underlined Francis. "Dear migrants and refugees, each of you brings in self a story, a culture of precious values, and more often unfortunately also the experience of misery, of oppression, of fear. The passage of the Holy Door and the Mass that soon you will live pour in heart of peace", he preached. The migrants at the end of the Angelus, have crossed the Holy Door and have participated in a solemn mass presided by Cardinal Antonio Maria Vegliò, President of Pontifical Council for the Migrants and the Itinerants. "The experience of the migrants and their presence recall the world, the urgency to eliminate the inequality that breaks the brotherhood and the oppression that forces to leave their proper Land. They are the ‘cry of the suffering humanity’ who searches justice and solidarity", underlined Vegliò during the homily.

Among those attended is the delegation of the Scalabrinian Sisters. They were present in St. Peter's Square with a "Door of the Migrants", made from a cloth with a red heart at the center. "Your presence in this plaza is a sign of hope in God. Don't let hope be stolen and the joy to live that arise from hope of the divine mercy, also thanks to the persons who welcome you and help you", Pope said

The Jubilee of the Consecrated Life

Pope;Three Pillars: Prophecy, Closeness and Hope

D

uring the Jubilee of Consecrated Life Pope Francis has chosen to focus his attention on three pillars: "Prophecy, proximity and hope." "Men and women religious – that is, men and women consecrated to the service of the Lord who follow in the Church this road of poverty and of chaste love that leads to a paternity and maternity for all the Church, an obedience … that is not military, no; that is discipline, it is something else.

The other word is closeness. Men and women are consecrated, not to distance themselves from people and to live in comfort; no, to become closer to and to understand the life of Christians and non-Christians, their suffering, their problems, the many things that can be understood only if a consecrated man or woman is close to them.

It is the obedience of giving one's heart. And this is prophecy. This is prophecy, against the seed of anarchy, that the devil sows. Prophecy means “telling people that there is a road of happiness, greatness, a road that fills you with joy, that is indeed Jesus' way. Prophecy is a gift, it is a charism that must be asked for from the Holy Spirit”, he explained. The other word is proximity or closeness. Men and women are consecrated, not to distance themselves from people and to live in comfort; no, to become closer to and to understand the life of Christians and non-Christians, their suffering, their problems, the many things that can be understood only if a consecrated man or woman is close to them .

And then on the term hope, he explained that "We must discern well if this is a true vocation and help it to grow. And I think that, counter to the temptation to lose hope, that leads us to this barrenness, we must pray more, and pray tirelessly. . the Lord Who has been so generous will not fail to keep His promise. But we must ask Him. We must knock on the door of His heart.

‘Feedback’ The VI Congregational Course for Formators … as woman bringer of hope...

T

he theme of the International Symposium of Consecrated Life, in a way based on what I experienced during the participation of in the VI Congregational Formation Course for Formators, the pilgrimages and the symposium expressed to: “strive to reproduce in ourselves, as far as possible, that form of life which Christ, as the Son of God, accepted in entering this world” (VC16). I believe that as Scalabrinian Missionary formator, I must always strive to reproduce with the formands the way of being and living of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word of the Migrant Father. It is the challenge of increasingly our centrality on Jesus Christ, contribute to the building of a culture of vocation, as woman bringer of hope, who walk confidently, following the footsteps of the Migrant Christ, bearing witness to His love and compassion by walking to the world in search of life, work and dignity." Sr. Eleia Scariot

We are the indwelling women of God …

I

ur meeting was with the greater content and participation in the symposium of the consecrated life. There was our fraternal coexistence and sharing of the mission which is a probation, there is the presence of consolidation. It was a moment of grace. There is much hope in the gift of the Spirit in our poverty, with it we can do great stuff. Many thanks.

was delighted by the welcome of the Sisters at the general house, they all arranged everything for our comfort and especially not to feel cold, since it was a concern of almost all. The topics or themes were excellent, that marked very good information. As the process of faith in the consecrated life, which is not something ready, we must always deepen it by the daily encounter with Jesus Christ. The question of fidelity, which depends not only on perseverance in consecrated life, but the way we live our lives creatively. Revisiting the sources of our spirituality, the places of Blessed Bishop Giovanni Battista Scalabrini, the Blessed Assunta Marchetti and the Servant of God Fr. Marchetti, I always learn something new, their lives of deep spirituality and consequently an intense missionary activity. It was not a hard course, full of chores, but proposals that led us to look ourselves in the vocational project. "We are the indwelling women of God to inhabit the world." All about these were reinforced by the International Meeting of Consecrated Life. We need to open our minds and hearts to the one Consecrated Life of Encounter, witness and joy. Being at the conclusion of the Consecrated Life Year with Francis Pope, was exciting, it motivated us with wise words: "The consecrated men and women are called to be concrete and prophetic sign of the closeness of God, sharing the fragile condition, of sin and wounds of the people of our time." Before that, I just to thank all whom I lived with and especially Sr. Etra Modica, her tenderness and availability in accompanying us at all times.

‘Feedback’ The VI Congregational Course for Formators ...the task to live radically..

I

say thanks to God and to the Congregation for the trust in the mission of formation, who after the course I have taken with much joy and awareness which the goal of the formation: to train people who are willing to follow Jesus as true Christians, assuming the task to radically live as Christ, in the Scalabrinian charism, with all that means of today for the Church and for the world of migration. These were days to renew my consecration, to revisit our roots. With the participation in the symposium, I was united with the whole Church concerning the consecrated religious life. The strongest point was to share with the Sisters the life, the joys, dreams and challenges, as a way to accomplish more and to have a greater communion in formation. Thank you for this course! Sr. Jakeline Danette, mscs

"...to reform oneself in order to reform" (St. Charles B. )

W

ith a heart full of joy and gratitude, I like to express my thanks to the Lord and the Congregation for this wonderful time of grace, blessings and the privilege to be able to participate at this formation course and the symposium of Consecrated Life during this special year in which we celebrated the closing of the Year of Consecrated Life, the opening of the Jubilee Year of Mercy and my 50th Years of Consecrated Life. It was special also because it took place in the "Eternal City" and at the Congregational General House and, also, to be able visit the Scalabrinian places. Besides all these graces and blessings, it was an honor and the privilege to enter the Four "Holy Doors" of the Roman Basilicas and having participated at the Eucharistic Celebration for the closing of the Year of Consecrated Life and the audience to the Holy Father, Pope Francis. This is for me a very beautiful, unforgettable and memorable experience. All the topics given by the various speakers were excellent and enriching and this helps me rekindle my vocation and encourages to assume my responsibility as a formator with love, dedication and enthusiasm and go on doing good after the example of Jesus and "be holy so everything will flourish in our hands". Sr. Marciana Zambiasi 14 14

... a great moment of grace...

It

was very nice and the more important was the sharing all the formators and with great desire. In all, I want to undertake in common lines in formation despite the great socio-pastoral diversity that we live in different global reality where we live and work. I welcome the idea of the formation team to continue the elaboration of the various materials and for the preparation of the “Ratio Formationis”. Certainly the symposium was a great moment of grace for our religious consecrated life, now it depends on us to be converted and to believe in it. Sr. Milva Caro, mscs

‘Feedback’ The VI Congregational Course for Formators

F

irst, I thank the provincial and general governments for the opportunity to participate in the VI Congregational Formation Course for Formators, which allowed me to pause for reflection, to study the given topics, to live with other Sisters and to share the journey as a formator in the formational service and cultivating the culture of vocation. Similarly, the pilgrimage, to “drink to the sources” of the congregational charism, and breathe the spiritual and missionary legacy of our founder Blessed Giovanni Battista Scalabrini, of our co-founders Blessed Assunta Marchetti and the Servant of God Fr. Joseph Marchetti were so enriching. Also, the participation in the International Symposium of the Consecrated Life, at its conclusion has been a blessing. I saw, shared, listened to the many witnesses who have responded to the call of God in the Church today, and the appreciated the presence and witness of Pope Francis in the event. This year of favor makes us think a lot of the challenges, prospects and proposals that have been raised throughout the meeting, in the human dimension, spiritual and charismatic, in our formative action in the Congregation and the Church. In communion and prayers. Ir. Lairi Salvi, mscs.
