Rick began his career in digital media as a graphics and web designer with a boutique web development and marketing agency known as PartheNet in 1996. Within 2 years he became the firms Information Technologies Director where he served as the intermediary between clientele and the development/creative teams to collaborate complete online marketing strategies. As a group they effectively implemented web technologies to provide clients an edge in marketing, and customer service through cohesive branding & exposure on the internet. In 2010 Rick took on the position of Creative Director for Discover The Region Publications, where he has been responsible for the construction & maintenance of the their web site as well as SEO strategy. Additionally Rick led a creative team and was responsible for defining the aesthetic direction for all of the Magazine Publications that the company produced.
In 2013, While working at Discover The Region Publications and with the companies blessing, Rick set up his own freelance creative business to provide all aspects of web design, and visual marketing to business consumers. Recent projects are featured in the coming pages, however as a freelancer, Rick has designed for companies including; Ling Skin Care, Childhelp, United Methodist Federal Credit Union, The California Association of Realtors, Providence, Lockheed Martin and more.

Project Scope:
Rick has been providing for the web design and hosting needs of Webber Estates since 2013. Recently they came to Rick with a request to re-build thier web-site to be fully compliant for user accessibility under recent rulings with regard to ADA compliance.
A small sampling of Webber Estates’ requirements for the project, include:
• a chatbot to greet visitors, answer questions and route site visitors to an agent,
• area MLS listing imports,
• a blog that allows for simple posting by their agents, and automatically cross posts to all of the agency’s social media accounts and alerts their clientele.

What Rick Delivered:
Utilizing Wordpress as the platform, Rick built Webber Estates a new site that is ADA compliant while delivering an optimized website experience on devices with different widths and different resolutions. The site connects visitors directly to their agents using a chatbot that greets the visitor and asks questions to determine the visitors needs, answering simple questions and then connecting them to the appropriate agent for further detail.
The site works directly with their MLS(VCRDMLS) to provide all area listings, office listings and individual agent listings. The site automatically cross posts blog entries from specified users to all of Webber Estates social media accounts. The site also uses SEO best practices, and the HTML is written with the sites good ranking on search engines in mind. The site is built around WCAG and makes proper use of H tags. The primary contents are above the secondary contents in markup, and there is very good internal site linking.

The Marketing Website for Aviara Real Estate Founding Partners, Dore & Geoff Baker.
Project Scope:
Rick has been in charge of Dore and Geoff Baker’s web design and linux hosting since 1997. In April 2022 they requested to update their current web-site which was last re-built in 2020. They needed a site that incorporated their Youtube channels, VCRDMLS, and Reach150 profiles, they also needed a site which would self populate so that they would be free to concentrate on their business.
The project began in April 2022 and the updates went live on April 23rd.

Project Scope:
Rick Rome has been providing for all of the web design and hosting needs of The Car Wash Guys® since 1995. Earlier this year Lance Winslow the CEO of Car Wash Guys asked Rick to build their new site and archive the old site. They needed the new site to work primarily with mobile devices as 90% of their users were using a phone or tablet to access carwashguys.com.
What Rick Delivered:
Utilizing LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack and WordPress as the platform, Rick built the website based on responsive user interface design principles. This delivers an optimized website experience on devices with different widths and different resolutions: PC, notebook, tablet, smart phone, etc.
Among other methods of ADA compliance the site properly uses header tags, meta tags, etc. & the primary contents are above the secondary contents in markup. Additionally there is very good internal site linking.

Project Scope:
Rick has been providing web design and print collateral design for Ellen Croft since 2005. Recently she came to Rick with a request to build a web site for her Pilates Yoga Gym as a part of a full branding campaign to bring awareness to and launch the product to the public. The goal was to create a visually stunning full campaign to market the P.Y.G. to fitness enthusiasts around the world. The site needed to also include video demonstrations on using the product.
What Rick Delivered:
Utilizing LAMP stack and Wordpress for the platform, Rick built a responsive web site that is designed around creating a user experience that leads to the purchase of the Pilates Yoga Gym. Combining powerful graphics, and a simple UX, the site creates a directed approach to customer enticement.
