Sincerely,
Katya Soedigwan Global Marketing CoordinatorRecently, SMART launched its highly anticipated Summer Sizzle promotion, which spanned from early November 2023 to the end of January 2024. The central focus of this campaign was to engage customers through an enticing raffle opportunity: with every purchase of a SMART product, end-users were automatically entered for a chance to win an exquisite outdoor kitchen set.
In order to maximise reach and drive sales, SMART deployed a multifaceted marketing approach, leveraging the power of online campaigns across various platforms. Advertisements were placed across popular social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and also featured prominently in Google Search results. These targeted campaigns reached
an impressive audience, with the advertisements being circulated nearly 3 million times throughout the duration of the promotion, and captivating the attention of over 1 million residents of New Zealand.
Through this comprehensive marketing strategy, SMART not only aimed to increase brand visibility and engagement but also to cultivate a
sense of excitement and anticipation among consumers. By seamlessly integrating the allure of winning a premium outdoor kitchen set with the convenience of online platforms, SMART successfully enhanced its market presence and reinforced its reputation as a leader in innovative and customer-centric promotions.
Who doesn’t know Robert Mallory? A seasoned marketing manager who has been an integral part of our company since 2017, he is a familiar face among colleagues. Let’s skip the introduction and get to know him a bit better!
What does a normal week look like for you? Are you mostly in meetings, or would you be at your desk working on an assignment? What are your daily tasks?
An average week for me can be very varied, which I quite enjoy. Given that marketing can have such a broad range of areas and activities, I tend to get involved in several projects that really contrast one another. These include graphic design, packaging, digital and social media, and event coordination. On top of that, the global nature of SMART presents its own challenges, opportunities, and quirks! I do spend a large
portion of each week in meetings. This is important as it ensures everyone, including myself, are on the same page regarding current or upcoming projects. My meeting itineraries include liaising with other departments, speaking to suppliers, and coordinating projects with team leaders and specialists. When I’m not in the conference room or a Teams call, I’m usually overseeing project timelines, campaigns, budgets, or delving into the detail of any particular area where necessary.
What are some things that help you to focus? Where do you work best: at the office or at home?
I value a balanced hybrid working arrangement, with two days in the office with the team and three days at home. I tend to fill my office days with team meetings and catch-ups where it’s much easier to work collaboratively. This is even more important when working with the design team where physical samples are reviewed and social teams discussing creative ideas. When working from home, my meeting schedule is much more limited, so I use this time to focus on projects without distractions.
What are the best things about working at SMART?
SMART is a company with a strong culture of teamwork, personal development, innovation and a healthy dose of ambition!
Working in such a positive environment focusing on growth not only of the company but its people is highly rewarding, whilst the ambitions for the company provide a good challenge to work towards.
Outside of work, what do you like to do?
I enjoy long walks and hiking with my fiancée and our three dogs. In recent years we’ve explored many areas across the UK including Norfolk, Suffolk, Kent, North Yorkshire and The Peak District in England, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Snowdonia in Wales as well as areas in both Sweden and Germany. Aside from this I am an avid PC gamer, particularly strategy games or supplychain / production simulation which might sound strange coming from a marketer!
What’s your go-to drink for when you’re working?
I have to start the day with a coffee (or three!). I only really drink tea when I think I’ve had too much coffee already!
