Marketing is a crucial part to any business, and here at SMART we pride ourselves on our fantastic in-house marketing team. One of our marketing strategies is to work alongside content creators. Content creators have the power to influence their followers to purchase a product, hence the term ‘influencers’ came to be.
Before we choose an influencer to work with, we take into account several factors, such as their follower count, engagement, and online persona. We are lucky to be able to work with 50 active influencers to increase brand awareness amongst their followers, and ultimately driving sales to our stockists.
Each and every one of these influencers have become a valuable asset to our marketing efforts, so as a thank you for their hard work as well as to further strengthen our relationship with them, we organised an Influencer Day. The Influencer Day was attended by 20 UK-based influencers, and we took them on a full day of fun.
We started off with product talks and demonstrations, showing what’s new and next at SMART, and moved on to a warehouse tour, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at how our blades get to their hands.
We ended the day on a high by taking them on a fun-filled afternoon of go-karting.
One influencer that we would like to highlight is Alex Burman. On top of running Errioc Carpentry, he does content creation on Instagram, where he shares tips, tricks, and advice on carpentry as well as showcasing his work in the trade. He was also named ‘Tradesperson of the Year’ in 2022 by Fix Radio UK.
We are looking forward to working with him further this year.

In our mission to make SMART available around the world, it’s important that we work with both physical stockists as well as online e-commerce websites. With local branches available worldwide, one of the most well-known e-commerce websites is Amazon.
SMART EU has been in talks with the German branch of Amazon to get our blades and accessories available on their site. Once our products are listed on Amazon Germany, it will be much easier for our European end-users to get our products. They can ship to countries outside of Germany, expanding our
reach to countries where SMART isn’t available in their local stores yet.
In Germany, Amazon.de is the most popular e-commerce and shopping website, shortly followed by the online auction site eBay and discounted e-commerce site Otto. It is the third most popular website
in the country overall, making it more popular than Facebook. They recorded a total of 500 million visits in December 2022, and these came from people based in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Poland.
SMART EU is looking forward to participating at the BouwBeurs 2023 with a large presence with our Dutch partners VSA. BouwBeurs is the biggest construction trade show in the Netherlands. The show will run for five days starting on the 6th of February until the 10th of February.
This year’s theme is focused on building for the future, such as modern engineering, sustainable materials, and smart solutions. Similar to the International Hardware Fair 2022, we will be showcasing how SMART is prepared to move forward towards a carbon-neutral future.
The last BouwBeurs show held was in 2018 and was set to make
a reappearance in 2020, but COVID-19 halted the show. Now with companies back in business, we are anticipating a high level of visitors and enthusiasm.
The show will take place at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, the most popular location for shows in the Netherlands. It will be spread over 6 halls, covering renovation, building materials,
digital construction, roofing, insulation, safety, and many other fields of interest.
Registrations for the show are now open.
Will we see you there?
The team at SMART Scandinavia might be small, but they sure are mighty! As the business rapidly expands in the region, so does the necessity of having more hands on deck. With this, SMART Scandinavia is happy to welcome Frida Carlen into the team, and she takes on the role of Warehouse Manager.
In the short while she has worked at SMART, her experience has been nothing less than positive. Bringing a warm presence to the usually chilly warehouse, Frida takes great care of the warehouse.
She ensures that everything is in order: the right blade at the right place with the right amount of available stock. She also packs incoming orders, so if you’re going to order from SMART Scandinavia this
year, there is a high chance that Frida will be the one to pack them! She will give the utmost care to your parcel and make sure it arrives to you safe and sound.
Outside of work, Frida loves a good cup of coffee and her favourite time of the year is the Christmas holiday period.
